Sweet Blossoms for Silver Sunday

Our neighbors behind us just happen to have a huge crepe myrtle
that just happens to hang waaaay over our back fence.
Lucky me.
So now I can enjoy them too.

My silver water pitcher,
a small silver tray that at one time held our mail,
and my silver wedding hand mirror...

white vintage Sunday gloves
and a crucifix and medal necklace
are all together to enjoy a summer Sunday.

The crepe myrtle's sweet scent fills the late summer air.

Delicate white buds and blossoms

Silver Sunday, Tea Pot for Spring

On a gorgeous Spring Day like Today
I decided to have my tea in the Sunroom.

I've been playing with flowers today
and a little silver teapot decided to
 hang around.

Creeping Phlox is one of my favorite early Spring flowers.
Pink, purple, lavender, pale blue and white...
like tiny snowflakes amidst a fluff of green,
they dot the landscape, and have a sweet aroma.

An old cemetery metal flower basket won their favor.

Hope you have a beautiful Silver Sunday.
Say Hello to all the other participants,
then go enjoy your day!

Vintage Valentine Cards on Silver Sunday

I've been waiting for today for weeks...
Since Joan at Anything Goes Here
announced her Vintage Valentine Party!

I've sneaked in some Valentine photos
 this last week or so,
hope your not tired of all the "love",
and some of the same photos.

As my kitties like to say;
Valentines, Schmalentines.

I'm also linking with Beth
from Gypsy Fish Journal today
to be a part of her monthly party,
Silver Sunday
(can't miss that!)

So I'm including some of my Vintage Valentines
on a large footed silver tray on my
Dining Room buffet,
where all things "holiday" seem to land.

This is a silver necklace that my sweet mom
bought me for Valentines Day this year.
Love the initial and the crown on top.

And a silver bud vase with faux roses.

I found this intricate large Valentine
this summer in St. Louis.
It's supposed to be 3-D,
but I wanted to display it in an old
ornate frame I had been saving.

Here are a few of my vintage Valentine postcards.
The cutie boy here reminds me of my nephew Spence.
(tulips from my sweet sister)

My entry way dresser is holding
another smaller 3-D valentine.
And the pink Hull vase was
a Valentine to myself this year.

And here is my sideboard again,
with another Valentine and
some altered children's Valentines
that I have been playing with.

This framed simple Valentine is an
original from my paternal Grandfather
to my Grandmother, from the early 1920's.
He owned a print shop and this is another of his pieces.
to my Grandmother's Birthday Party.

Have a Sweet and Cozy Valentine Weekend,

Hugs and Love,
Debra

p.s. Thank you all for your sweet comments!
I seem to be having a "time management" issue with
preparing for the new booth opening.
Please just know I love you all and that
each and every comment
blesses me.

Silver Sunday, I wish these were mine...

I really love these little silver clocks
made of teapots and other silver "accoutrements"

Sorry to say they aren't mine,
 but folks,
my exciting silver items are running thin,
so here are a couple of images of my silver "wants".

(Romantic Homes)

Oh yes, and this gorgeous silver trophy cup.

(Country Living)

aaahhhh...

Oh, excuse me, now back to reality.

I hadn't really been "into" silver
before our 25th "Silver Wedding Anniversary".
Our children bought this silver tea set
 for us to celebrate appropriately.

Here are some flea market finds of silver bud vases
and one of my many random silver teapots.

This antique silver-plate monogrammed ladies inkwell set
was given to me by my brother,
for my Birthday about 7 years ago.

I love the detail of the roses.

silver flea market candle holders.

Now, please disregard any and all dust that may have
inadvertently been shown in the taking of these photos,
and do not check back to see me
 in my pink thermal pajamas.
 Thankyou.
(the management)

Run on over to Gypsy Fish Journal
to see the rest of the fabuloso silver goodies!

Have a great Silver Sunday!

Silver Sunday, I'm a basket case...

...for silver, that is!
Yes, here I am after losing my head for these
sweet painted silver wicker baskets.

(just decided I felt like being silly today.
After yesterday's post,
I gave myself permission!)

This one is holding one of my younger daughter's
 wedding bouquets.

And these little gals are in my studio,
just there to brighten my day!

They behave themselves pretty well.

Love the paint patina, here.

And this is a little vignette of two
of my silver-plate baskets,
full of Valentine goodness.

Be sure and join the rest of us Silver Sunday groupies
with Beth at Gypsy Fish Journal.

Have a wonderful weekend!
love,
Debra
