Windowbox Centerpiece

I've been slowly cleaning out the stashes of "stuff" that I've had piled in my garage for the last couple of years. Each week I'll take a few things over to Relics to add to my booth space. But even though I've looked at this particular item each week, I just haven't been able to load it in the car and let it go.

I've been wanting to do something different with the table top in the Dining Room for a while now, but just didn't know what that would be. I love my large French Wire basket, but was wanting something summery and chippy white...hmmmmm...
I knew just what to try.

This is an old handmade window box that I found quite a few years ago,
haven't used it, but couldn't let it go.
Anyone else out there with this same dysfunction?

It's kinda clunky and big, but for now I needed a change.
This helps bring a little "cottage-y" feel to this space.
(as I'm looking at this I see I need to invest in some new faux ivy)

Love the scalloped bottom.

This is the "backside", but still charming and chippy!

A nosy little someone, has to come and inspect anything new or different.

She will pose for the camera, but won't look me in the eye.
That way if I tell her to get down, she can pretend she didn't hear me.

...sorta like a kid...

If you haven't checked out Monday Marketplace,
just scroll down to the next post, I am keeping it open all week.
This is for Etsy Shop and Online Boutique links.
Take a minute and browse thru, there are some wonderful items listed.

Yesterday, I changed out one of my Blogher ads
and my whole blog fell apart.
So I apologize if you were trying to link up in the midst of the chaos.
I think I'm running OK now...

I'll be partying here this week.

I love the unexpected "chippy" in the dining room.

  20. Love the window box and kitty cat....lol

  21. The window box is darling, darling. Oh my goodness about the BlogHer ad. I erased an entire series blog I spent two hours writing. I started shaking, then prayed and was able to rewrite it from memory. hugs, olive

  22. What a charming and beautiful centerpiece! Love it! :)

  23. What a great centerpiece! I love it because it is substantial, yet low. I like the view from all sides, too.

    Nice job!

  24. Oh that box is a keeper. I love its vintage-ness. Is that a word? LOL I think the white geraniums and bird's nest is the perfect Still-Spring-Not-Yet-Summer arrangement. Perfect, I would say. :)

I love your flower box centerpiece, it's perfect.
    Love kitty too.

  26. No way you can let that one go! It's lovely!!

Our kitties have selective hearing too!
    Thanks for sharing!

  28. You made a great choice! I love it.

  29. I love this and would have hung on to it, too. You have it decorated perfectly! It's so pretty! And the kitty is very pretty, too!

  30. I LOVE it, Debra!!! Perfectly chippy and aged. I think there are so many looks and ways you could decorate with that old box. It would be beautiful filled with evergreen, berries and candles in the winter or bright, bold flowers in the summer.

I'll be featuring you at next week's Knick of Time Tuesday party - thanks so much for sharing it with us!

    Angie @ Knick of Time
