July 4th Farmtable in the Garden Room

Last month, I did a little DIY paint transformation with a breadboard to give it a more "subtle" look of gray-washed aging. That one little difference made a big impact on styling further tabletop centerpieces and tabletop tableaus out here in the Garden Room. I like to use more than one element in a tabletop grouping, but I don't want them scattered all around willy nilly. I like to corral those crazy knick knacks and vintage items!

Hello Everyone, we all have a real treat today with a fun vintage Hop. I'm joining today with a great group of gals who love vintage goods and absolutely love using them to decorate our homes and porches. Vintage Linens in an Easter Vignette

Hello dear Friends, I'm so glad you came by today because I'm sharing a few ideas about using and displaying vintage linens in our decor. If you love "vintage", then you probably have at least a few pieces of old linens in your cupboard or cabinets. Old tablecloths, napkins, lace and embroidered pillow cases, quilts and tea towels are easy to find at flea markets and estate sales. Often after many years they are still in good shape, but may not be practical for daily use. So many are still pretty and can be used for a fun vintage vignette or display.

Mini Easter Brunch Tablescape and Vintage Decoupaged Bottles

Every once in a while the crafty bug bites me and I get the urge to create a little something fun, especially if it's for a  "holiday".  I really enjoy using decoupage with Mod Podge because it's such an easy method. Well, I say "easy" as a relative term, since it is a bit messy and imprecise. But since I love vintage goods, I've found using old bottles for decoupage to be a wonderful way create small gifts and holiday mementos.

Although we're having a sunny day here in the lower Midwest it's still cold and shivery. Anytime I can sit still for awhile you'll find me wrapped up in an electric blanket or throw. It's days like today that make me want to play with some plants and then put out a few vintage Valentine's to brighten up the house and shelves.

Hello everyone! Hallelujah, it's November and so close to Thanksgiving! And we're all looking forward to celebrating, then moving in to the long awaited Christmas Season. Back years ago when I had a few vintage market spaces, I loved decorating with seasonal colors, textures, and items. I also would put together small nosegays and tussy mussies tied with a seasonal ribbon and used them for decorating and sold quite a few each season. I love playing with faux flowers and since I rarely throw away any blooms or branches, they are perfect to bunch together a few odds and ends for a small arrangement. It's even more fun if you can find a vintage container for your posies.

Hi Everyone, time for an Early Summer update here on the console in the Entry. The last time I shared this spot was before Easter, so I thought it was time to bring it into Summer before it started sprouting the flags and Patriotic red/white/blue.

Farmtable Vintage Bucket with Tulips

Do you have a spot that causes you to be continually thinking about the next fun change-up? The farm table in the Garden Room is one of those spots for me. After all the Easter bunnies and forsythia were put away, I wanted to use this big bundle of white faux tulips before (real tulips) were a thing of the past. Spring flowers and shrubs just don't last long enough!
