Lovely Lemony Daisy Arrangement on the Sideboard

Hi Friends. A few weeks ago I wanted to update and give a summer refresh to the sideboard here in the Hearth Room. I'd had a tabletop wooden wheelbarrow filled with my Garden Pot/Seed Packet Wreath and some vintage garden-y things, but it was a little too spring-y for mid-June. It was time for some early summer flowers to make an appearance.

I've seen some fun arrangements that combine early summer flowers like these "mini" daisies and lemons, so when I ran across a few faux florals and some faux small lemons I knew I needed to put them together for June. They were a perfect fit for the vintage wicker basket. I also have a few pieces of vintage pottery flower pots that are USA, McCoy and Hull, so I wanted to include them along the ledge of the mirror.

This is the Hearth Room, the place where there's no natural light.
This area always gives me grief with photos because
the pics are never crisp or light enough.

I only have 2 pieces of this pattern of USA Pottery;
the gravy boat and the sugar bowl,
but I think it may be Yellow Cornflower or something like that.
I researched it on Google, but didn't come up with much.
I'll be on the lookout in the future for any other pieces.
Let me know if you have any info on this pattern, please.

Oh yes, thank you Lord...
God Bless Our Home!
(in the original Eastlake frame)

I only made a few changes to the existing vignette to do this refresh,
but it brought it from late spring to summer.

I've been using the black/white ribbon on a few other pieces,
and in a few weeks I'll add a few patriotic flags for July 4th.

I'm getting stronger every day and went for my first post op where they took out the 9 million staples. I have to say I immediately felt better. Nothing like getting all those little bits of nasty metal jabbers out of the skin! This has definitely been tougher than anything else I've been through. I'm one of those people that can't sit still for long and want to be up doing something. I overdid it last week and paid the price a day or two into me thinking I was superwoman. Thank the Good Lord too, for my husband who has been on kitchen duty, kitty litter patrol, and laundry detail (among other things).

Hope you'll come back Monday evening...

  1. So glad you're on the mend. It's hard to be an active person and have to rest. I love the container with the peat pots. So original.

  2. So happy to hear you are doing better. Your sideboard with the lemon vignette is so pretty. Have a great rest of the week. xoxo Kris

  3. Grateful you have your hubby to help you through the rough patch, and really glad your staples are out! I love those tiny lemons and daisies in the basket! And those peat pots stacked in the lantern are adorable. Very summery!

  4. So pretty Debra! I love everything "lemon" and with the flowers, it's such a great summer look. The buffalo checked bow is the perfect contrast. I always look forward to seeing your sideboard refreshes! So glad you are on the mend and I wish you a restful weekend. Take care!

  5. So glad to hear things are a bit better! LOVE that adorable china! I don't think I have ever seen it before. Wonderful details.

  6. I LOVE that, Debra! From the photos you can't even tell that those daises are faux...they are so cute!! I love the ribbon you chose as well. And those floral china dishes...I'm in love with those!! So much vintage goodness in this one and it's just gorgeous.

  7. Thank you for sharing this again on Farmhouse Friday. It is so darling and I love the pops of yellow. Have you ever found our more about the pattern on the dishes? Those are fabulous! Happy Friday friend.
