Spring Open House at Leola's Vintage Home and Garden

I always look forward to the seasonal Open Houses at Leola's Vintage Home and Garden in Ozark, Missouri. Spring, Fall, Christmas; you can be sure to find wonderful vintage items displayed with out of the box flair and panache. These gals are "pros" when it comes to "The Vignette", and I always come away with not only new goodies, but tons of fun ideas for decorating my own house.

 Take a peek!

Be Inspired #129: Inspiring our personal style...

Wow, It's Friday...
Time for Be Inspired!
A big "Thankyou", to all of you who come by each week to party!
Be Inspired is growing, yay! Last week was our biggest party yet!

My older daughter is getting ready to start a major kitchen demo and renovation. Her 100 year + home will be going through a complete transformation. When I saw this photo below I saw all the elements that she's been looking for.

Leslie from Gwen Moss always has amazing thought provoking posts, and in this one she poses the question, "Does your home tell your story?" She shares wonderful images and ideas on how to make our spaces more personal.

Kerryanne from Shabby Art Boutique shared this precious Romantic Vintage Easter creation made from an old photo and a white washed peat pot. She has a beautiful blog that's full of shabby white wonderful-ness!

Donna, An Anglo in Quebec is in the process of giving her Dining Room an update, and she started with a pair of perfect wicker chairs, that she lightened up with paint.  I really love her fresh style mixing French with Rustic and Industrial.

Kris from Junk Chic Cottage has been filling her home with Spring Inspiration. She has an adorable mantel that makes me think of a Beatrix Potter Easter, but I just had to share this photo of white Wellies. What could be cuter for Spring?

The Master Sitting Area at Market Nine Home is full of so many elements that I love. Kristie has successfully combined grays and chocolate browns with her neutrals to create a wonderful soothing retreat. And she has a bed that's totally amazing!! I want her to come decorate my home!!

Thanks Gals!

I also want to invite you over to one of my favorite blogging gal pal's blog, Anita of Cedar Hill Ranch. She's started a new interview series, "On the Back Porch with...", and I've received the honor of this week's spot. So head over this morning, you may find out a few of my secrets!

Don't you just want to move to her ranch?

There were tons of great links last week,
I think it was the most we've had to date.
Still time to browse thru for some great inspiration!

Here are the top 4.

Sherry from No Minimalist Here took us to the
Extravaganza Antique Market
I'm wishing I lived close to Sherry!!!

Carolyn from Australia and Desire Empire took us to a
wonderful beachy design store, Coco Republic.
wow, those baskets are fabulous!

Rosemary from  Ozma of Odds has been creating fabulous
cashmere cupcake roses and you'll just not believe how beautiful they are.
Well, we know Rosemary, so yes we CAN imagine!

And Miss Olive from Olive Out took us on a little visit to the Pottery Barn Outlet.
We're hoping that she can stay undercover for more inspiring trips!

Thanks gals!

Spring in the Entry

I haven't shown this little spot in my Entry Hall for awhile, because actually I have two "Entry" areas, and this one often feels like Cinderella to the Stepsisters. The light can be tricky here, but today with a little sunshine and a new Spring-y vignette it got a little attention.

I had it in my head for white tulips this year,
so they're filling a basket along with a twiggy wreath.

My sis made me this wonderful moss covered "O" for Christmas,
and I loved the black ticking stripe ribbon she chose.

Two of my lambies are grazing in the lantern.
I think they look like they're in church with all the Gothic arches.

I always love tulips for Spring.

This little Eastlake dresser was black for many years, but a couple of years ago in my crazy "paint everything in the house" mode, it got the "white" treatment.

Gray washed French Laundry Basket underneath for extra cold weather gear.

Here's a shot from a little further out from the Dining Room...

...and this from the Living Room.
I have a larger header I need to get painted for over the door.
This looks a little too small, now that I'm looking at it.
It's the width of the door, but with windows on each side,
it needs something chunkier.

OK, where's my can of white paint?

Now that I think about it,  I don't think I've shown my twin boxwood topiaries for ages. I bought these ten years ago before  The Bombay Company went out of business. An expensive purchase at the time, but they were for our younger daughter's wedding, and I never regretted it.

Here tied with a French Script wired ribbon.

I realized when painting this petite little dresser
that there are reasons some things are painted black...

It had large gaps between the wood pieces on the side which I had to fill with wood putty before the second coat of paint. Totally hidden by the black color, they were glaring when the white paint went on. It's still a little rough, but I love the size and this is where gloves and scarves are kept.

As you can see, I'm not a perfectionist.
The hardware got a paint job too.
That works for me on Shabby pieces.

Have you entered the Give Away?
You'll want to check out Lucy's wonderful Etsy shop.

joining in on these parties:

Hope you're having a great week,
Can't wait to see what they have for Spring!
(I'll be sharing the fun this weekend)

The Marketplace and Bel Monili Give Away

Happy Tuesday and Welcome to
The Marketplace

Today, I want to share a great Give Away
from a new Sponsor

Meet Lucy from Bel Monili
"My items are created using upcycled vintage finds to create one of a kind wearable pieces of art. For my signature flower pins and hair accessories, I love a good scrap of pretty fabric and a jar of vintage buttons. Everyone's grandma had that big tin of buttons...I put my inheritance of the tin to good use! A rogue earring, a sparkly brooch, a colorful button...THESE are what make my world go 'round!"

"Vintage Reborn" is her slogan for Bel Monili, which means "Beautiful Jewelry" in Italian, and beautiful it is; one-of-a-kind designs that reflect her nostalgic love for vintage elements. Come take a peek at all her wonderful designs just perfect for Spring! Here are just three of her many wonderful pieces.

Adorable Purple Butterfly Necklace
would be perfect with that floral sundress, this Summer.

Pastel Cluster Bracelet that has all the wonderful pastel colors of Easter.
