My ADD Weekend

Seems like there's a lot going on around here.
Painted and cleaned the laundry/kitty room.
Appliances that were finally delivered and installed last Friday,
Great new washer and dryer that sound like alien spacecraft are landing.
(the cats are spooked and peek around the corner)
and a new dishwasher that only made it through one cycle before it broke.
arrrrrrgh...

So I can't finish my painting in the laundry until the new dishwasher appears.
But hey, I'm sharing my Birthday pillow from my sweet sis.

She recently bought a Silhouette machine
and has been creating to her heart's content.
I was able to choose my design, so I went with my initials.
LOVE the burlap, and so do the kitties.

She also made the darling little fabric flower that's attached.
LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!

And then as part of the laundry room re-do,
I wanted someplace to hide the multiple bags of cat food,
and other sundry cat supplies.

So we found this great box/trunk thingy with rope handles.
But the selling point was that it has bird decals on it.

It was super duper brown and homely,
so I gave it a little whitewash,
keeping the bird decals showing.
(not perfect, but better than it was)

AND THEN...
(oh yes, you know I love me some birdies!)

I had wanted to do another bird window,
so this one is backed by vintage sheet music.

I did another one on vintage magazine paper,
but I forgot to snap a photo before I took it to Relics.

Lets see...I'm painting my Eastlake dresser in the entry hall white.
Putting up new curtains,
and needing to make a run for some white faux wood shades
 for the laundy room.

Not to mention doing dishes...lots of dishes.

I'm linking up with these great parties:

catch ya on Thursday for
 Vintage Inspiration Friday!
love ya,
Debra

Vintage Inspiration Friday #29: Going Green for St. Patty's

To celebrate
St. Patrick's Day
I thought I'd grab a few of my favorite green things.

Watering cans come in all colors at my house.
I have plenty of the plain zinc kind,
but I always love me some accent color for the season.

So for Spring, I snipped a few branches of my monster forsythia out back
and brought them in to force.

This little chair was one of a set of table and chairs that was
a present for my 2nd Birthday.
My brother and sister used it too,
so I only managed to get one of the chairs.

 I found this precious little book last year;
(published in 1933)
my favorite shade of green,
french gardening graphic,
and perfect for my vintage "garden book" collection.

This is one of the photos inside.

Ivy and miscellaneous Spring stuff
in one of my carriers.

Uh oh...look who's here!

Out for a tasty snack of forsythia.
The girls love Spring too!

And now for some inspiration fun from last week:
Be sure and click for some great ideas!

Freckled Laundry

Today I'm joining in on these great parties.

Hope you'll join in the
Vintage Inspiration Party!
Please grab the button for your post and sidebar
so everyone can share in the fun!

and if you've been featured then there's an ap for that!

I may not get to leave a comment with everyone this weekend
but I'll be coming by.
Thanks so much in advance for linking up for the party!

I had a washer malfunction, which led to purchasing a new washer, dryer,
and while we were at it, a new dishwasher.
(dang these things are expensive!)
I've been without a washer since Monday...eeeck!

And then...
since the appliances were out
I've been painting and redoing my laundry room!
Don't know if it will make the blog cut,
but it sure has been overdue.

So have a fun weekend;
I have my work cut out for me!

love you all,
Debra

p.s. I'll try to get out the rest of the wonderful photos from Leola's this weekend

...rollin' in it!

...and lettin' it all hang out!

Last week I opened my new booth space
and I wanted to use burlap on the dividing walls.
The day before, I laid my material out to iron,
and soon it was overrun by cats...
drooling, chewing, rolling, sniffing;
a disgusting display.

Sort of like a catnip trip

I was laughing the whole time I took these.

I get this way sometimes myself,
but it's usually around cheesecake or purses.

Just wonderin' if any of you who have kitties have seen this before...?
(love this next one)

Please excuse all the fur and fatness...
just havin' some burlap bliss.

Hope you can join in on
Vintage Inspiration Friday

and speaking of VIF,
I love each one of you for taking the time to come to the party,
and love seeing all that you all share,
but I'm having a little time management issue.

I'm trying to visit each of you.
please don't leave me if I can't leave a comment every week
(oh, guilt is a hard thing)
Just needing to keep it real, kids.

love ya bunches,
and no... that's not me in a cat suit.

Tray Chic

Time to tweak the sunroom decor again.
The red, white, and blue,
has been changed out for late summer colors.
August becomes golds and greens with hints of the coming fall season.

I'm definitely one that loves the changes in weather and nature,
and my decor reflects those changes.

My friend Debra, from Inspirational Home,
has been having a summer sale,
and I found these wonderful Frenchy trays.
They are designed with hangers on the back
so you can use them as wall decor,
or as a tray.

I love all things French,
and these Provencal scenes are a favorite of mine.

(they even have sheep)

This one in the Living Room is slightly different.

Some of my English ironstone landed on the one in the sunroom.

This large pitcher with the robin and nest
was my very first piece of Brown Transferware.
It really started a heavy addiction!

I just love this tiny creamer with the delicate roses

By the end of July I'm tired of the heat and ready to wind down summer into fall.

And it looks as if my trusty assistant is laying down on the job.
She works hard all day following me around.

My desk top computer; my workhorse, decided to check out a few weeks ago.
I've had to postpone my Etsy plans because of it,
but now I have a new computer (thanks hubbs),
So I want to get started.
