Monday at the All About Home Link Party I featured a post with a wonderful piece of Valentine Art. It was created in the style of antique and vintage art pieces created with vintage jewelry pieces and buttons. Traditionally these were created with a black or dark velvet or velveteen background. Often times we see these for Christmas in the shape of a Christmas tree, but this was done in a heart design that I absolutely fell in love with.

Beautiful Valentine's at All About Home #182
Hey everyone, Welcome to All About Home #182!!! I know this is a strange time of year for seasonal inspiration and decorating. Some of us are still in the deep freeze while others are starting to see temps in the 70s. Wherever you are, I hope you're enjoying your early February and have some fun Valentine's Day plans. As always, we thank each of you and appreciate you coming by.

Easy Romantic Vignette on a Tray
Sometimes we want to do a little decorating but don't want to make a huge commitment by slathering holiday decor all around the house. Valentine's Day is one of those times that I like to gather some of my fun vintage pieces but don't necessarily want to cover every surface with hearts.

Valentine's Day in the Holiday Cupboard
Welcome to February...
let's have some fun in the Holiday Cupboard!
Do you have a favorite place to "putter" with decor? I've mentioned before how much I love playing in this cupboard with dishes and knick knacks. It goes back to my old days of having vintage goods spaces where every inch was fair game to "decorate" for holidays and seasons. Besides, it's good therapy for me to design and create with dishes and ephemera. And since it's Valentine's Day I'm gathering all things floral, sweet, pink, and teensy bits of red!

Beautiful Winter DIYs at All About Home #181
Hey everyone, Welcome to All About Home #181!!! I hope everyone is doing well, and finding some enjoyment during the middle of winter. I enjoy all the seasons, but find the cold and snow to be something I'd rather "fast forward" through. Today we have ice under snow, and I'm enjoying watching the tons of birds at the feeders. Thanks so much for coming by each week and sharing all your fun posts and inspiration with all of us. We appreciate your participation and support!

How to Make a Moss Covered Heart
I've always loved using natural elements in seasonal decor and floral arrangements. If it's made of twigs and moss, dried leaves, nuts, acorns, pinecones, dried flowers etc. I'm on it. When I can create something that's holiday related and I can use it year after year, then all the more fun.
Back in 2016 I'd been seeing a lot of gorgeous heart forms covered in moss on Pinterest and in boutique vintage markets and floral shops. Whether it was cardboard, a paper mache puffy heart, wooden cutout, grapevine wreath, or a variety of other forms... I was determined to come up with my own mossy heart creation. Here's a post where I shared How to Make a Moss Covered Heart from 2018.

Valentine's Inspiration at All About Home #180
Hey everyone, Welcome to All About Home #180!!! I hope you all are doing well, staying healthy, and finding some creativity after the busy-ness of the Christmas season. After the holidays my creative battery needs to be recharged a bit. I've been playing with Valentine's Day decor and putting a few vignettes together. And then I restyled the Holiday Cupboard for February, always a fun dish project.
Thanks so much for coming by each week and sharing all your fun posts and inspiration with all of us. We appreciate your participation and support!

Vintage Conservatory Valentine Entry
Hello Friends, are you doing some decorating for Valentine's Day? Today I'm sharing last year's Entry with a vintage botanical theme. I wanted to put together a romantic Valentine's Day vignette in the Entry, but I wanted to do something just a little different than my usual Valentine decor. Any time I can create a setting with a "vintage garden/botanical" theme I'm excited, because vintage-garden goods are some of my favorite items.

Winter Farmtable in the Garden Room
I've come to realize when transitioning from one season or holiday to the next, that I need to think about my floral arrangements early on. I'm a big believer in keeping my decorative floral containers true to season and reflecting what I might see in nature.

All About Home 178: Winter Decor DIYs
Hey friends, I hope you've had a great first week of 2023! I'm still in a bit of "refresh to winter" mode and putting a few Christmas decor stragglers away. It usually takes me most of January to get it all corralled and packed away. Just today I was working on things and had a sudden pang for anthing relating to "spring".
Thanks so much for coming by each week and sharing all your fun posts and inspiration with all of us. We appreciate your participation and support!

Vintage Cottage Weekend and the January Cupboard
Hello friends and Happy Weekend! For a few weeks in January we have a small bit of time that's totally dedicated to warm, cozy, and comfy. After Christmas and before Valentines Day; it's a time to relax in front ot the fire, read a good book, watch a movie, and curl up in a soft warm blanket... without a ton of shopping, big meals to cook or a deadline looming on the calender.

Winter Whites Tabletop Vignette
I don't share this little table often because it tends to be a catch all for whatever I'm putting together in the Garden Room. But it has a sweet little shelf where most of my ironstone pitchers live year round and my vintage silver tray and a mix and match coffee service. It turned out that it was a perfect spot with just the right amount of space to pull together a "winter white" look for these early days of January.

Vintage Cottage Weekend: Neutral Winter Dining Room with Paperwhites
Are you looking for a festive look for New Year's Eve that can move into January with just a bit of tweaking? One of the first places that I start making a transition from Christmas to "Winter" is in the Dining Room. I like to move into a more neutral palatte, but still have a bit of sparkle and festive candlelight for New Year's Eve.

Holiday Home Christmas Tour 2022
Hi Friends, I wanted to take a minute and share a short version of my Christmas Home Tour for 2022. Yes, it's after Christmas, but I wanted to do a Christmas tour "Diary" of sorts so I can look back and see how I decorated this year.

Holiday Leftovers in the Cookbook Cupboard
No matter the holiday I always seem so have stray bits and pieces of rooms and vignettes that get left behind. Big holidays are usually the ones where I take tons of pictures, then run out of time. This year there are a few Christmas leftovers still to share. Since I like to keep a visual diary of my decorating year to year, I didn't want to leave them. Especially when a few cute birdies were out in the Garden Room.

Wrapping Up December at All About Home #176
Hello Friends and Welcome to the
All About Home Link Party!
Hello All, I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Christmas. We had our older daughter and her fiance stay, and we had a low-key Christmas Eve and Day. Our younger daughter and husband and the new baby stayed in because of the weather and high viral rate of RSV and flu in our area. Our older daughter and I made a quick visit on Christmas Eve to take presents and for Erin to get to see her. We masked up and stayed just a short while. We have lots of Christmases ahead, and want her to stay well.
Thankyou all so much for taking the time to come by out of your busy holiday schedules and link up all your fun holiday ideas, recipes and DIYs. Amber and I are so thankful and grateful for each and every one of you!!!

Using Copper and Neutrals on the Christmas Baker's Rack
Hello friends, Happy Week before Christmas!! I know this will be a super busy week for all of us, so thanks for coming by to visit.
The best news of the Season is that our new (one and only) granddaughter arrived Sunday morning at 12:00 am. So glad she's here! She's a little miracle.

Wood Block Christmas Gingerbread Houses
It seems like each year there's a new trend in Christmas decor, and the Gingerbread theme is popping up everywhere. I love Gingerbread houses and Gingerbread Men/Women/People cookies as they are so traditional and geared toward the "kid" in us. I think most of us at one time or another attempted a Gingerbread House or cookies. The fun is in the creative process. Also nice if it turns out cute and actually stays in one piece!!

Heads Up for Collections at Christmas
Hi friends, a quick shout out for tomorrow's Lifestyle of Love edition where we share how we incorporate vintage items in to our decor. This will be a super fun gathering because we'll be sharing our collections at Christmas. Being a vintage lover and having had vintage market booths in the past just makes me all the more prone to hoarding collecting fun vintage Christmas items.
so, see you tomorrow along with 8 other collectors to Celebrate Christmas!
P.S. I'm still on pins and needles waiting for the Bebe to arrive...!!!

Christmas Greetings from the Garden Room
I have a lot going on in the Garden Room this Christmas. (well, I guess that's nothing new since I usually do!) It's been fun taking a bit of a different theme on the Baker's Rack and the Holiday Cupboard this season, which I'll be sharing soon. But for now I wanted to wish you a Merry start to the Christmas Season, along with my two old Christmas buddies.

French Country Christmas Dining Room Part 2
Hello Friends, I'm back today with Part 2 of the Christmas Dining Room. Since I have so much color in the rest of the house, with a lot of Tartan Plaid, I like to lean toward a more neutral color scheme and a French Country vibe in this space.

French Country Lantern Centerpiece
Welcome to the Christmas Dining Room, friends. This last several years I've been pushing myself a bit to come up with new ways to decorate this room. I have relied heavily on Tartan Plaid in my Dining Rooms for years, but recently I've tried to move toward a more French Country look that relies more on neutral, natural garden elements.

Weekend Inspiration: What's Your Favorite Christmas Style?
Today I'm sharing a post from back in 2016 that is one of my all-time most read. I thought I might "refurbish" the content, but instead just added to it a bit to include "Cottage" style which has emerged this last few years. If it feels a little dated, decor trends have shifted and redefined themselves this last couple of years. You might even find some "new to you" blogs from the last decade. I thought it would be fun just to take a quick look at some of the different "Styles of Christmas".
Christmas Copper On the Hearth
Happy, happy day after Thanksgiving, friends! I hope you all had a wonderful day Thursday (and this weekend) with family and friends. Some of us still have family here so we're enjoying a bit of shopping, resting, and eating leftovers. How about you. Are you itching to get on with Christmas decorating?

So glad you're here, Friends. I'm grateful and thankful for each of you. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and weekend!
Hello Everyone, holidays have a tendency to creep up on my decorating schedule. Thanksgiving to Christmas is especially tricky for me because I really enjoy late Fall, Thanksgiving and November and don't like to get in a hurry to jump into Christmas with both feet.

Weekend Inspiration: Nature Inspired Tartan and Transferware Tablescapes
Hi Friends, I know many of us are getting ready for Thanksgiving this weekend and that some of us are still in a bit of Thanksgiving mode at least till Thursday evening when we put the last dish away. These pics are from years ago in 2013 when I shared this for a Thanksgiving Tablescape. This theme is a basic idea that can be used for any season or holiday.
