Cottage ReView: The Late-Summer Baker's Rack

Hello friends! Today I'm sharing a mash-up of some of my previous posts from the late summer Baker's Rack. August is the time of year I bring out all the pieces that evoke the wind-down of summer with a harvest feel. You'll see some of the same pieces styled in a bit different way, but they all have a vintage garden theme with lots of late season color with golds, greens, oranges deep reds and a bit of brown.

Spring Pastels in the Garden Room Sitting Area

Hey there friends, Since it's mid-April, and even though Easter was last week, I'm still keeping a bit of an Easter Vibe in my Garden Room sitting area. Pastels and a few leftover bunnies and rabbits are still hanging around. Soon birds and nests will take over the decor, but right now, the lighter and pastel colors of early spring are on display.

Spring Baker's Rack in the Garden Room

I have a hard time packing up all the bunnies once Easter is over. (How about you?) Because well... Spring is definitely rabbit season, and there's just a lot of fun still left in having a bunny fluffle hanging around the spring garden room.

Using Copper and Neutrals on the Christmas Baker's Rack

Hello friends, Happy Week before Christmas!! I know this will be a super busy week for all of us, so thanks for coming by to visit.

The best news of the Season is that our new (one and only) granddaughter arrived Sunday morning at 12:00 am. So glad she's here! She's a little miracle.

Copper Styled Thanksgiving and Christmas on the Baker's Rack

This last few weeks I've been straddling the fence with Thanksgiving and Christmas. It's the same each November... I love Thanksgiving, but I'm also ready for Christmas. Here's the baker's rack for Thanksgiving with a bit of a peek at Christmas. Here's the fun Christmas teaser...

Feeling Fruity on the Baker's Rack

August is the month I think about the harvest in the garden from when I was growing up. And memories of a farmstand at the edge of town with fresh corn, cucumbers, tomatoes, and watermelons... all sorts of produce fresh from the fields. Often there was still a little dirt still hanging around. So thinking about the summer fruit harvest this month, the Baker's Rack is all about Summer Fruit  ...

Red, White and Blue on the Baker's Rack

Hello friends, Happy July 4th Weekend!

I had a few spots with Patriotic decor that I haven't had a chance to share yet. You all know I love decorating for holidays with vintage pieces, so here are a few more pics from the Garden Room dressed up for the July 4th holiday. I like to keep a visual tour for how I decorate each year and then look back year to year to see what I've used and styled.

Vintage Cottage Weekend: Spring to Summer Birds in the Garden Room

Hello, my friends. Here we are with Memorial Day this weekend. (so hard to believe) At Vintage Cottage Weekend we share how we use vintage cottage elements in our decorating. Starting in June I'll be decorating with a patriotic summer theme, but for this last week of May I wanted to share a few pics from the Garden Room with one of my favorite late Spring themes. Birds!

Vintage Cottage Weekend: Easter on the Baker's Rack

Hello dear friends, I hope you're having a lovely Easter Weekend! Easter is often chilly and rainy here in SW Missouri and it seems this weekend is no exception. How many times when I was a kiddo did we have to wear a winter coat over our pretty new Easter outfit?

Valentine Vignettes in the Garden Room

Hi Friends, are you all digging out of the latest snow and ice storm like we are?
We had a big blast of ol' man winter come through last Wednesday and Thursday with a layer of ice and then about 8-9 inches of snow on top. We stayed in and I had to postpone a doctor's appointment, but other than that we managed to keep our power and no ice damage (that we know of). Valentine's Day is definitely "winter" around here so in my Valentine decor I still have out some evergreen and bottle brush trees mixed in.

The Baker's Rack with a Woodsy Theme

It seems I have an abundance of shelving pieces. Yes, I've been blessed with the space at this house to have a few extra pieces to display all my vintage goodies. And then there's the fact that I love decorating with the seasons, so there are always fun ways to mix it up every month or so. Since the new year I've been leaning toward decorating with neutrals with a woodsy theme.

New and Old Finds for Christmas in the Garden Room

I just had to share a couple of sweet new finds for Christmas. Once I saw them they pestered me until I said yes and found them in my online "cart". I rarely buy on impulse (unless I'm at the vintage market); I take time to think on things and roll them around in my head for awhile. I hate to pay full price for something, and usually wait for a good sale. But, I just happened to be Christmas shopping, when I found something adorable (and on sale) that really needed to come live in my Cookbook Cupboard.

Farmhouse Thanksgiving in the Garden Room

Hello Friends, even though many of us have moved on to Christmas decor and posts, I still have several photos of this year's Thanksgiving decor that I want to share. I like to keep a visual diary of my holiday decor here on the blog. That way I can look back next year for some inspiration, and maybe some of you might like to take a peek, too. I've tried to condense a lot of photos so that I can cover the whole Thanksgiving Garden Room into one bigger post.

October Garden Room and the Baker's Rack

With October slipping through our fingers, November will be here in a quick minute. Then come preparations for Thanksgiving and before we know it Christmas is on our doorstep...literally. I love late Fall and Thanksgiving, so I'm not one to skip it and move directly to Christmas. I brought out my tubs for Thanksgiving goodies and started to clear off the Baker's Rack and wicker pieces when I realized that whoops... I hadn't actually shared the Garden Room since August.

Late Summer Baker's Rack

Hello friends! Has the "Late Summer/Early Fall" bug bitten you yet? It comes after me each year starting in the last week in July. August is the time that I start getting that itch to bring out a few seasonal colors, that look to the "harvesty" hues of golds, dark greens, oranges, deep reds, and browns.

Deer on the Winter Baker's Rack

We may have put all the Christmas decor away, but we still want to enjoy the natural winter landscape. I've brought out some soft neutrals and pale floral pastels
to bring it all together in the January Garden Room. Deer have been a favorite theme this January and I'm sharing a few of mine out here on the Baker's Rack.

More Christmas Fun in the Garden Room

Yikes, I think it's Christmas Eve!!!

I just have a few more pics from the Garden Room
that I wanted to share of the Baker's Rack and a bit
of the church pew and my antique horsey.

Thanksgiving Seed Box on the Baker's Rack

Hey Friends,  Happy November!

I think most of us who blog do so partly as a photo "diary" of sorts. As much as to share with you all what and how we're decorating our homes and what we're up to in life, we do blog as a way to remind our own selves about what our life looks and feels like through the seasons and the years.

Fall Vignettes in the Garden Room

Hi Friends, I hope you're off to a great start on the weekend. I'm really trying to savor these wonderful weeks of October. It's my favorite month of the year and it's been a joy bringing Fall into the rooms of this house this season. I had a bright sunny day last week, so I spent some time taking pics around the house. Today I'm sharing some scenes from the Garden Room, as I always enjoy changing up the quilts and pillows on the wicker settee and putting together a vignette on the coffee table/bench.
