Summer Under Glass

Playing with my Living Room decor has become so much easier
and more inspired since the paintbrush came out last week.

Decorating with a white palette has been what I've been striving for
and now I feel like I have so many more options.

What can be more "summer" than seashells?
I have a conch shell that was given to me by my mom
that she and my daddy had their entire married life.
Believe it or not, it was a doorstop for the front door.

I'm not an expert, but it seems quite large to me as conch shells go.

I added another smaller one,
and a nautilus shell to some old books
for a summertime cloche vignette.

I'm painting my sofa table and some picture frames today
so these were taken amid the mess.

I also finished my frenchy toile sofa pillows,
you can see one in the background.

They weren't an easy job,
as I'm no professional seamstress,
but they look pretty good from a distance!

I found my husband standing in the middle of the Living Room last night,
"It's really growing on me", he said.
"In fact, I really like it."
Now there's a man with a "chippy" gene.

I'm joining Marty for her Summer Cloche Party
and the rest of these fun parties.

We're Baaaaaaack...

...For Marty's Cloche Party, that is!

Many of you who've known me for awhile
know I have a little (?) obsession with sheep.

And you will always find a sheep or lamb, or two,

or three...

 thinking their important...

hiding in plain sight...

under glass.

so please go visit

at A Stroll Thru Life

and visit everyone else's...

little obsessions.

I'm not really obsessed....
shhhhhh.

love,
Debra

Easter Cloches

I hope you can stand enjoy
just one more Easter Decor post.
I didn't realize I had so many things,
 until I started going through
my cupboards and bringing it all out.

You all know I'm just a "Holiday" kind a gal.

I've been saving a few little friends
for the Cloche Party at Marty's.
I found these at a friend's booth
at Spring Creek a few weeks ago.
Old chalk Easter rabbits and a chicken.
I scooped them all up as she was just putting them out.
Oh yeah, right place, right time!

This is my German glass glitter rabbit that I found
a few weeks ago at my friend Kristi's space
(you'll get to meet her soon)

I had to buy three,
one each for my daughters...
and of course one for moi.

He's one of my new Favorite Things.

and of course "Sweetface" has to be
 included in every Cloche Party.
He's a little spoiled, you know what I mean?

I couldn't leave him out of Show and Tell!

And of course Spring isn't Spring
unless I have a bird-nest...
(or ten)

I stacked my wire flower frogs up,
then thought they looked like a wedding cake.

This little fella appears to have been
trapped by a Bird Nest cloche.

Hope he has some chocolate in his little basket.
I might let him loose for that!

And to celebrate Good Friday and Easter,
I have my Vintage Black Bible
 from my grade school years.
with a bottle I altered.

(here's the Royal Treatment Give Away Crown!)

I'm linking up for Marty's Cloche Party

at The French Cupboard

If you haven't entered my Give Away
The Royal Treatment,
to win that fabulous crown,
and leave a comment on that GiveAway post.

Sending hugs and blessings
for a wonderful Easter Weekend!

love,
Debra

A Cloche Party

is having another of her wonderful
parties to share our cloches for the season.
My cloches are just hoppin' for Spring to arrive!
so I had to share my little friend who found a home.
He's all decked out for Spring with his polka dot tie,
and is sitting on a tuft of colorful grass.

And of course, "sweet face" must make an appearance.

My Dining Room buffet was still
 celebrating Valentine's Day...

And this little girl was the belle of the ball.

The sideboard found these little
 Lefton Cupids on display.

So head on over to A Stroll Thru Life and say
a big Hello to all the other participants!

Have a wonderful Weekend!
Debra
