Spring Pastels in the Garden Room Sitting Area

Hey there friends, Since it's mid-April, and even though Easter was last week, I'm still keeping a bit of an Easter Vibe in my Garden Room sitting area. Pastels and a few leftover bunnies and rabbits are still hanging around. Soon birds and nests will take over the decor, but right now, the lighter and pastel colors of early spring are on display.

This vintage "Tumbling Blocks" quilt is my favorite for Early Spring and Easter. It reminds me of a colorful gathering of dyed Easter Eggs and baskets filled with candies and goodies. I'm using my taupe and white Buffalo Check pillow covers, a floral pink rose fabric pillow, and a vintage quilted pillow which probably was from a well loved "cutter" quilt.

On the bench/coffee table I have my old crate filled with paperwhites, seed packets and my cabbage tureen. And on the other side my green basket weave lunch hamper.

As I mentioned a few bunnies and sheep are still hanging around the vignettes...

Two of my garden books sit on top of the hamper.

From the 40's through the 70's "nursery planters" were a popular gift for the new baby. I remember receiving a philodendron in a small lamb planter for our older daughter. Philodendron were popular because they were easy to keep alive without having to have a green thumb. Just a bit of water and light that wouldn't cause much effort for nursery care.

When I took these photos last week the Holiday Cupboard was still filled with Easter decor, but since then I'm changing over to a more bird/garden theme for late spring.

I've been using the chippy old step ladder this last year here in front of the cupboard. The little steps are perfect for small bits of seasonal decor. My white Paper Mache bunny is still here for a few more weeks.

I have my "pocket pillow" with a few vintage Easter postcards and my sweet vintage fuzzy bunny bank peeking around the corner.

If you missed my post from earlier in the week, I shared my Baker's Rack dressed up for Early Spring.

And here's the Holiday Cupboard for Easter from last week.

Hope you all have a great weekend with good weather!!

  3. Very cute, Debra. I love the tumbling blocks quilt. I have been sick this past week (day 11 now) with a nasty cold and respiratory thing. I thought it was allergies the first 4 days but ended up getting an antibiotic to try to kick it. I haven't switched any Easter stuff out yet, but am getting tired of looking at it, lol. No or low energy.
