Springtime Holiday Cupboard with a Wee Bit O' Irish

St. Patrick's Day isn't a holiday that I go all out decorating for, but having said that I DO like to give a nod to my Irish, Scottish, and British ancestors. Since I've had the Holiday Cupboard back at this house, I've found that I can go a bit crazy with the holidays and seasons. Of course "dishes" and a few odds and ends are always the base for my decorating obsessions.

A Touch of Spring in the Garden Room

With all the frigid weather we've had this last few weeks, I've spent a lot of time wandering through Pinterest seeking a little inspiration for Spring. It was hard to get moving in that direction when it was still in the teens, but once the thermometer hit 50 I knew it was time to get off the sofa, put away a few of those electric blankets, and get busy bringing in some sunshine.

So many of us were impacted by the country's

deep freeze this last week.

I think most of the country, even if you didn't lose power,

has suffered with a way below normal arctic cold spell.

I'm hoping you all have your power back

and will soon be on the road to "normal".

Not Quite Spring in the Hearth Room

Most times, I go from Valentine's Day directly into Early Spring decorating. But this year we've all had a strong blast of winter that just sidelined me (you guys too) With temps below 0 for about a week in a row and several good rounds of snow I just wasn't up to getting out the spring-y stuff. As I said, I'm sure next week when it hits 50 I'll be more in the mood, but for now it's still "February" and the tail end of winter.
