Spring Dining Room with Hello, Spring Blog Tour

Spring officially arrives today, and I'm here to celebrate with the Hello, Spring Blogger Home Tour with Katie from Let's Add Sprinkles and a wonderful group of talented Ladies. I'm so glad you're here. I'd love to share my Dining Room for Spring.

Do you have a place that you always start your seasonal decorating? Well, I always seem to begin the process on my Dining Room Table, which is what you see first when you come through the front door.

I wanted to try something different in here this time, so I did a little paint update on a few of my favorite decor pieces.

I've had a little wagon that fits perfectly on the table top. It has a little French flair, and I've used it for years with many a seasonal vignette tucked inside. But this year I took the time to do something I'd been wanting to do for quite some time, and that was to paint it a light neutral color. I didn't want to go a stark white, so I used some Annie Sloan Chalk paint and mixed it with some "taupe-ish" test paints from our home re-paint of several years ago. A Pottery Barn oversized lantern got the same treatment and a wide wire ribbon bow in Brown and Green Plaid.

I like to keep up with the Seasons by adding a few faux flowers and vintage items that compliment the colors of the current season. I had found this handsome rabbit earlier this year, and made him the focal point with the newly painted French wagon.

Since a vintage garden theme is one of my favorite ways to decorate, I loaded the wagon full of old clay pots, a bird nest,  a ceramic cabbage bowl, some faux Iris and a metal rabbit.

Little white bird, nesting in a ceramic covered cabbage dish.

I have this little Illustrated Garden Guide to Flowers that just happened to be turned to the page on Daffodils and Crocus.

I like to change out my table runner each Season, and usually I just use a length of folded fabric. That way I can use it for pillows later if I decide.  I found this green Toile piece of fabric a few years ago, which is perfect for bringing in the colors of Spring.

My Dining Room really isn't a "room" just a Dining "area" to the left of the front door. It's a little snug in here for all my biggish furniture, but I keep the table without the leaf and turn sideways when walking between the Buffet and China Cabinet. I love to display vintage pieces, and right now one of my Ironstone Tureens on a platter is here. I have a few cloches that I like to change up on the Buffet also. I added a Botanical Sheet of Tulips and a few pieces of my French Faience to the moss carpet.

I found this Antique French Regency Plume Crest mirror when we moved here, which replaced the oval mirror that went with the furniture. A Triptych Mirror is just leaning against the wall. I put it there one day until I could hang it somewhere and it just seems to have stayed put.

My pottery cups seem to have been found by a little visitor.

I'm a lover of sheep and lambs, and this is an oil that my husband bought for me for one of our anniversaries several years ago.

This cloche holds a large egg styled after a Jeanne d'arc Living Magazine feature.

Here's another cloche with a moss basket sitting on a vintage Milk Glass cake stand that was my mom's.

I hope you'll come back and catch the rest of my Spring decorating later this week.

Thanks so much for coming by. If you came from Katie's I hope you'll continue your Home Tour by heading over to see Kelly from The Essence of Home.
