Welcome to My Christmas Home Tour 2015

Hi Everyone, and Welcome to my Christmas Home Tour for 2015.
I've added a few more pics, so you could call this the extended version.

For those of you who are new here, or in case you haven't visited for a while,
this is our 2nd year in our new home and we're a bit more settled than last year.
We downsized by almost half in the Fall of 2014, but it's good to be here.

You can click on the photo and click again for a larger version
in more detail.

Hope you enjoy your visit!

Christmas House Tour 2012

I wanted to join in with a few of the Holiday Home Tours this year, so this will be a mini house tour in "broad strokes". I have lot's of fun "details" coming of the house decorating this year, but since I haven't been able to get to them, I'm just showing larger views of the rooms in this post.. You'll be able to see a little of what I've been up to, but look forward to a little more coming soon.

Here's the Dining Room.

More from the Entry Hall

A few days ago I gave you just a little glimpse of what I was working on in the Entry Hall. To tell you the truth, I didn't really know where I was going with my Christmas decor this year. I had an idea, but it hadn't been developed yet. I need to have some inspirational "direction", and for the Entry Hall I found it in this silvery glittered swag and wreath. Everything needed to stay white with some glitter for good measure.

I have had a large (and heavy) vintage chalkware goose that I bought about seven years ago. It was "faux bois", so it had a brownish wood grain finish. It was a cool piece, but I painted it white so I could use it upstairs this year. Here she is with a little book page wreath ornament I bought from my sweet friend, Kenda, at Leola's Open House. It has our initial in it, so it's even more adorable.

A pair of bottle brush trees, a little greenery,
and my oatmeal tree in the urn.

Then just a few little details

I've been surprised where I've gone this year in the Dining Room and Living Room. I wanted to simplify. I'm not sure I did that, but one thing for sure, it's different.

Be sure and stop by The Marketplace this week
 for some Etsy Shopping fun!

Vintage Inspiration #113 Christmas Inspiration from the Vintage Suitcase

Even though most of us haven't started decorating for Christmas, I know we're all looking for ideas and inspiration. I'm wanting to do something a little different this year, so I'm soaking up all the "Christmas" that our local Open Houses have to offer. I visited Robin's Vintage Suitcase yesterday and walked in to a Christmas wonderland. Whites and Brights, elegant, with a vintage flair. The store was a feast for the eyes.

Pam from House of Hawthornes has an interesting thought on collecting these Napco Turkey salt and peppers, candleholders, and planters. It will make you laugh and feel guilty at the same time.
