Hello friends...
Well, it's been a minute ... or months to be truthful, since I've shared here on the blog. So in all honesty this is me sticking my toes into the water to see how it might go to share a bit of my current life and a few pics for some Fall Inspiration.
I've been taking a sabbatical of sorts to rest and try to understand my life and health and really just who I am. I haven't set down at this computer for literally almost a year. Earlier this month I had some blog maintenance to take care of and it surprisingly ignited a little spark in me. Fall has always been my favorite season and I start thinking about it in August. Here are a few posts from early fall from past posts.
This year has been a brutal summer with a mini drought and temps consistently in the upper 90's this last six weeks or so. That doesn't do much to get me in a fall mood, especially every time we open the door and it's like a blast furnace. The yards are brown and brittle and it's not a pretty sight. I didn't even put out any flower containers this year because I wasn't up to taking care of them. It looks pretty forlorn out back. The only thing growing is a few mounds of lambs ear, which is basically indestructible, and a little sycamore tree in a concrete pot that the squirrels planted. It's sort of embarrassing thinking the mail man and Amazon drivers only have that decrepit view to look at.
I had to step back from blogging 18 months ago because of my health. If you'd like to read the whys and reasons you can read that post Here. A lot has changed and then nothing has changed if you can understand that line of thinking. I still go through my blog list every morning and visit and check out Pinterest. There's still a part of me that would love to be totally engaged in blogging but right now I'm just trying to see what happens on a daily basis. But since next week is the first day of fall, I thought I'd say Hello and just share a few posts that might give you and me a bit of the cozy and nostalgic feels of autumn.
I hope to see you soon. Take care and here's hoping that we all get the first bits of Fall to enjoy this week!

Debra, I'm glad you're back even under limited circumstances. I hope autumn brings you joy and greater improvement in every way.
ReplyDeleteSo great to hear from you, Debra! Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm Party! xo Kathleen
ReplyDeleteWelcome back Debra and Happy Fall. Saw your post at TFT #778 where I shared too. Wishing you a beautiful day and many moments of joy this season. Nancy Andres @ Colors 4 Health.
ReplyDeleteSo glad to see an update Debra!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
ReplyDeleteMy heart leaped when I saw this post...SO HAPPY to see you here....I have always loved your posts and your beautiful home and have missed them...But I do understand your situation...I hope maybe you will be able to post at least once in awhile, health permitting....I am so looking forward to Fall as the older I get, the more I can not tolerate the Summers..With Climate change, we now have dew points in the 70's here in NEPA!! I want to know when did Pennsylvania become tropical with oppressive dew points and humidity!! It is 2 years since I lost my husband and life is very different but I am navigating through it..They say the first year is the hardest but I found that the 2nd year was harder as you finish doing everything that you need to do and take care of and then reality of the situation sets in...But life goes on....Good to "see" you!
Hugs,
Deb

Debra! You have been on my mind and I am thrilled to see a post! I hope we can have a phone chat soon. Happy fall!
ReplyDeleteDebra! I just saw that you are blogging again, even if only once in a while. Yeah!!! I have missed your decorating ideas. You have been a big inspiration to me even if I never shared that before. Please link up your latest fall post over at Share Your Style #516 so I can share it next week for you. <3
ReplyDeleteMany hugs for continued good health,
Barb
Welcome back friend! I'm so glad you're dipping your toes, and I hope your health allows to continue since I know you love it. AND we love to see all your vintage goodness. My MS can be a challenge sometimes and unfortunately it has progressed and I just take it one day at a time. It's all one can do- since health can be very fragile. Stay well and I hope we see you around more and more. You are truly inspirational and I hope that helps you in some way. XO- MaryJo
