This Week on the Sideboard

This is the buffet/sideboard in the kitchen hallway, one of my favorite spots for some seasonal decor.(gee, I say that alot) I think I've had several different vignettes here this Fall, but this rendition has been the most fun, using one of my old windows and some more black/white elements.

My sister made the adorable Boo banner using her Silhouette machine.
Mine has scaredy cats with green glitter eyes.

I've had this old mint condition Remington typewriter for years, but I'm just now using it in a real vignette.

The gobblers are waiting in the wings for the Thanksgiving re-do coming next week.

We were in St. Louis for a long weekend visiting the kids.
We always have such a great time, but I wear myself out.
Eating and shopping non-stop...you know how tiring that can be!
I only took a few pictures but I'll share some tomorrow.
OK, laundry is calling me, but I'm trying to ignore it.
I plan on staying in my pjs all day.

What's New in the Sunroom

I have a few more things I want to share this month,
because as of November 1, I will transition over to Thanksgiving mode.
After Halloween and before Thanksgiving I start gearing up for
da da da daaaaaa.....
Christmas... eeeck. can you believe it?

So here are some photos of the latest that's been added to the Sunroom.

Of course I had to hang my old black umbrella
where I can find it easily.
Never know what dark and rainy night
you might have to unexpectedly go out...

Then a few additions to the baker's rack for the end of October

I found this cute little "Fall" garland at the Ozark Fall Crafts Fair,
which was earlier this month.
It's been a tradition for my sister and I,
every year for the last 15 or so.

I always like to make little Fall gifts for family
so this year I used a page from an antique reader called
The Halloween Cat, then added a graphic from the 30's.

I have a little "thing" for sweet black kitties...

I found these wonderful hooked wool pillows at the Crafts Fair, too.
Love the great wool plaid tartans.
They'll be perfect when I bring out my late Fall blankets.

The lamb was a "special request". He's adorable!

Then my bird print changed for Fall also.
I'm ready for another walk in the woods for some bird watching.

I'm always sad to see October go.
It's my favorite month of the year.
Hope you're having a good weekend,

This and That

I was going back through some of my photos from last Fall
and I thought I'd just share them again.

Below is one of my favorite headers
taken from a photo of an old Adirondack chair that's seen better days.

Vintage Inspiration Friday #60 Vintage Ephemera Collage

Hi Everyone, it's that time of the week again,
time to link up anything "vintage or vintage inspired"
and all your Fall Decorating!

I've been a real lover of paper collage my whole life. I've always loved saving cards, notes, and bits of paper this and that. In my scrapbooks as a kid I saved movie tickets, Birthday cards, notes, magazine fonts...you name it! I guess I come by it naturally as my paternal grandfather was a printer.

Because of that, I wanted to share with you a couple of images of some paper collage that a friend of mine from Leola's creates. Kristi has been making these themed paper collages behind desilvered antique mirrors for several years. I thought I might have more photos of her work, but these two from the Fall Open House at Leola's in Ozark, Missouri, are my only photos.

unleashes her inner vintage Jack-O-Lantern!

Bella from Bella's Rose Cottage shares her
wonderful Fall-O-Ween Mantle

And Elizabeth from Pinecones and Acorns
inspired us with a friend's painted table creation.
This is free-hand folks!

Last but not least is Tee from Browne Eyed Belle
She's wowing me with this fabulous Dining Room.
