Vintage Cottage Weekend: Spring Shopping at The Vintage Peddler

Hi Friends, glad you stopped by Vintage Cottage Weekend where Amber (Follow the Yellow Brick Home) and I are sharing some fun posts and inspiration with all things "Vintage Cottage Style". Back in January I mentioned that I was on the lookout for a small table or cabinet to use in the Hearth Room. It's naturally dark in that space since it's in the middle of the house with no direct windows, and because of that it can be a bit dim and dreary cozy. The little table I was using was not very stable and really too small, but I was desperate for a table lamp to brighten up that corner.

Back in January, my "before" little wobbly lamp table...

Since then I've kept that idea in mind but really haven't been out much of anywhere that I might accidently find something. But last week my hubby took me for a Birthday outing and we headed to The Vintage Peddler, my favorite source of antiques and vintage furniture and goods. I knew that when I saw "it" I'd know it, and surprise surprise, this little sewing cabinet was just waiting for me. It's the perfect size and isn't wobbly (like my previous table) so it came home with me. I didn't get a pic of it in the booth space since it was a bit dark, but here it is in it's new home happily brightening up my dark and dreary corner!

BTW, that table lamp had once upon a time back in 1990 been brass,
but got a combo spray and chalk paint makeover and a new shade from Lowe's,
when we moved a few years ago.

I was able to take a few pics while shopping at The Vintage Peddler, so enjoy browsing around. Spaces were decorated for Spring, and it was fun to grab some inspiration and ideas for bringing some Spring and Easter in to my own home. Remember, you can click on the photo and then click again once it comes up for a closer look. There's so much to see that often I miss things while I'm in the store and discover them once I take a peek at the photos.

I love this vintage print below, but we have zero wall space
at this house for anything new.

Loving all the vintage garden goodies around the store.

Green and Turquoise pottery was everywhere...

Adorable vintage tote with an Easter Bunny theme.

  3. The table looks terrific. I liked the other two but wobbly won't do. This is much better and so darned cute! What a fabulous shop. It's been too long since I've done that. I must get back in the groove!

Thanks so much for coming over to Marmelade Gypsy today and leaving such a wonderful comment. You made me smile!

  5. I love it when you take us armchair shopping, Debra. I need to share a post of what we've been doing in our booths lately, but just getting them set is a lot of work in itself. Creating a post and editing pictures always ends up taking a back seat for me. I love your newest table. My sisters and I were on the hunt last weekend, and they each picked up a table - one for resale, the other for her home. I love all that green and turquoise pottery. I have a tub labeled in my storage unit called 'cottage pottery' all in those colors (and yellow). I hope to use it in this home!
I hope your birthday was as fun as it appeared. Here's to another trip around the sun!
