Fall Vignettes in the Garden Room

Hi Friends, I hope you're off to a great start on the weekend. I'm really trying to savor these wonderful weeks of October. It's my favorite month of the year and it's been a joy bringing Fall into the rooms of this house this season. I had a bright sunny day last week, so I spent some time taking pics around the house. Today I'm sharing some scenes from the Garden Room, as I always enjoy changing up the quilts and pillows on the wicker settee and putting together a vignette on the coffee table/bench.

This whole last year I really haven't made many decor purchases.
I really didn't/don't need anything but in the past, that's never stopped me.
But this year I don't really want to be out much,
so like many of you, I'm using what I have and just changing things up
from room to room.

Nothing is "new" in the Garden Room this year except for a few faux fall flowers,
so if you've been with me long you'll recognize some of my favorite friends,
and pieces that I use throughout the seasons.

Here's one of my favorite little girls.
When she was younger she was a real handful
but she's mellowed out a lot the last few years
and loves being in the Garden Room.

By far the most fun I've had here in the Garden Room this last year
has been being able to decorate the "Holiday Cupboard".
Soon it will be decorated for "late Fall".
I know you all have laughed about all my silly seasonal decoration designations
and I laugh too, but it's very true.
Decorating for me is a progress through the seasons that I really enjoy.

One new thing this year has been the set of wonderful Myott's Bouquet Brown Transferware plates that I found on Ebay. Brown is my favorite and I really love bringing out my mixed up collection to showcase for Fall.

The Baker's Rack used to be the "favorite", shhhh,
but since the Holiday Cupboard has been brought back,
It's more for seasonal decor and not dishes.

I hope you're enjoying your Autumn days,
and able to take your time to savor the beauty of the season.

Friends, I just want to take a minute and tell you
how much I appreciate you.
I read all your comments, and they really bless me.
Thankyou for taking the time to come by and leave a little note.
love you all,

Hope to see you Monday evening!

  7. I'm also with you, Debra - savor every bit of what gives you pleasure. By doing this, you're extending the season and finding your treasures reloved as you rearrange them. It's always a treat to drop in and visit. I love the dish cupboard, and miss that activity myself, although setting my table is my equivalent now. The sheep on the table is handsome, but your girl perched nearby is beautiful. I hope this finds you well after the week's happenings. Hugs.

  8. Debra, I always so enjoy visiting on your porch. And on the purchasing---really, I think their should be more emphasis in blog world on reusing and recycling ideas and decor. So, many blogs are focused on making you purchase, I've been strongly eliminating them, for wasting my time. Most of the 'stuff' is from elsewhere, I would rather purchase something from an artisan or a thrift store. Hugs, loving all your fall goodies, Sandi

  10. Debra, is your beautiful girl a Maine Coon Cat? My parents bought me one for Christmas my first year out of college. I had my boy Bandit for about 15 years, through my marriage and birth and early childhood of my sons. He was a big 25-30 pounder and gorgeous! Sure did love him.

  14. I think I could live in your garden room, Debra!! I do like your new cupboard and now you have more pretty places to create wonderful vignettes!! I am missing the size of our California home and how I could spread things out there when decorating, even though I was only able to share it for just he first year I began blogging before we had to move out.

I love that you have your sweet lamb in your coffee table vignette. I'm glad your sweet cat popped in for a photo bomb; she or he has a spot over in my Animal Friends Pinterest page now. :)

Happy to feature your post, as always, at Share Your Style #279 this week. Thank you, I am beginning to feel better. <3

    Many fall hugs,
    Barb :)
