French Country Christmas Dining Room Part 2

Hello Friends, I'm back today with Part 2 of the Christmas Dining Room. Since I have so much color in the rest of the house, with a lot of Tartan Plaid, I like to lean toward a more neutral color scheme and a French Country vibe in this space.

My favorite little corner is here in the Dining Room with the antique family washstand. My sweet little French Girl resides here along with a buffet lamp with an antique mirror watching over a seasonal vignette. I like to keep a tray of some kind here and most of the time it's this lovely vintage silver tray that my sister gifted me years ago.

My Lamb Tureen can be found here most of the year, but he gets a little dressing up during Christmas with some vintage Shiny Brites in gold.

This Madonna print in a metal frame was probably from the late 30's or 40's.

My moss covered initial "O" has an angel ornament attached
 for a bit more Christmas.

My older daughter brought one of these painted angels to me this summer.
So sweet, it reminds me of her.

It's always hard to get good photos of the buffet because of all the bright light, even on a cloudy day. I'm using a few of my collection of demi-johns and one of my vintage ironstone tureens. It's also sitting on a silver tray surrounded with more of my gold and silver Shiny Brite ornaments and votives.

Deer shed antlers and some evergreens from the yard are tucked in.

We bought these vintage Silvestri heavy glass Christmas Trees for my husband's grandparents one Christmas when we first got married. I was gifted them back again years later by my mother-in-law after they passed.

A William Bouguereau Madonna print is in a very old antique frame.

My antique wire plant stand squeezes in holding some faux paperwhites, another lamb, a butter dish, and a vintage ironstone pitcher. It's a tight fit around the table, and the wire stand couldn't be one bit bigger.

If you missed my Dining Room French Country lantern centerpiece earlier in the week, you can find it HERE.

Here's my washstand from a few years ago for Christmas.

And a look at the buffet from the last house.

Beautiful Christmas Cloches from the Dining Room.

  1. So beautiful and peaceful. I LOVE your Madonna pictures and those sweet little lambs!

  2. It is all so beautiful. I love the angel picture your daughter gifted you. She is beautiful. Have a good weekend. xoxo Kris

  3. This is just lovely, Debra! I really must try an angel picture sometime -- they're lovey and what a wonderful gift from your daughter.

    1. Jeanie, I would LOVE to see you paint an angel picture. I know it would be amazing!!!

  4. Debra, that Bouguereau print, your gold shiny brites and your garden theme table centerpiece are everything for me! I really love all of those and how you've made the dining room sort of the quiet space. Because I am finished with decorating, I had fun last night and today hanging out with my girls and a girlfriend, going to see downtown lights and (today) a mid-1800 original house museum dressed in Williamsburg style Christmas finery. It was much fun! I hope you have a fun weekend.

    1. oh that sounds like so much fun. I don't like the thought of being so busy "decorating" for Christmas that we don't have time to enjoy Christmas. Keep up the fun!

  5. I am in love with the lamb tureen...what can you tell me about it?

    1. Hi there. It's a new piece I found around 2010 actually at Tuesday Morning. It's from Portugal and I just love using it throughout the year.

  6. You had me at the lamb tureen and Madonna print! 😊

  7. Debra, I love the gold and silver glass ornaments around the sheep tureen!! Really magical!... I just think the Madonna and the Christ child with the sheep and the shining (like stars) holds a beautiful Nativity feel... Very happy to feature your post at Share Your Style #371 this evening. <3

    Happy Christmas!
    Barb :)
