Has it lived a Prior Life?

I ran over to Lezlee's a little while ago,
and found out she is having a party!

Uh huh, a
And we're all invited.

Lezlee's livin' up to her name and asking people to share
objects that they use that once had a "prior life",
or was used for something different than what it is now.

The first thing that came to mind was my sweet little
 Staffordshire Commode.

Now, I have to admit that it IS at home in the bathroom.
But now used for extra t-p and soap.

I"ll refrain from any blatant bathroom humor,
except to say,
it DOES have a large crack on it's bottom.

Now, go visit Lezlee and see what you have to share
that might have had a Prior Life!

If you haven't seen my post on "Tattered Treasures"
a new store in Lebanon, Missouri,
please scroll down to the next post.

Have a great weekend,
love,
Debra

  4. LOL! I have a couple enamelware ones with lids sitting next to the potty. They hold extra T-p, too.

  16. Several years ago a friend of mine and I were having a yard sale together, and I noticed she had a blue enamelware chamber pot for sale. I asked "Why are you selling it?", her response "Well, nobody pees in it!". I bought it. LOL! Rhonda

  18. Ooh, Debra! I'm crying here after reading your crack about the crack on the bottom of the bowl! :)
It is a pretty thing that once had a dirty job! So glad you've cleaned her up and your using her to hold things now! ;)
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  19. I love the fact that you are still using this piece in the bathroom. I don't think it matters how much a piece is washed and sanitized, but no one wants to use a former chamber pot as a fruit bowl, right? :) TP and soap is very fitting.

  20. I love the little porcelain potty-
I have a couple of enamel ones...(one is child sized) I used the big one in the bathroom to store TP for a while-- was thinking of reincorporating it.
Yours is so dainty - great post, crack and all.

    found you at Prior Lives

  21. Very pretty! Crack and all. And it looks just too cute with all of your goodies. Do they still make Yardley products? I remember them from a looong time ago!

  22. I can't believe that something that pretty used to be used for you-know-what!

It would make a really pretty soup tureen, but I guess no amount of washing would ever make that a palatable idea!

  23. Funny! I bought one of these one time that said "soup tureen" on the price tag. Luckily, I knew what it was! There are some beautiful ones out there. By the way, I love the print behind it in the first photo.
