Summer Majolica

(sharing a post from a few summers ago...)

Hi Everyone, I hope you were able to catch a few of the lovely Summer Home Tours that were a part of A Stroll Thru Life, Marty's, Home Tour Series. I shared a few pics from my Summer Sitting Area in the Kitchen, and here are a few more from the Baker's Rack showing a few pieces of my Majolica.

I always look forward to the seasonal changes that I get to make with my vintage decor pieces and collections. My little Baker's Rack is a perfect place for me to rotate my vintage goodies. I've said before, this is just an inexpensive piece with a Formica top that I bought back in the early 90's from Spiegel catalog. It was dark green when I bought it, but painted it white a bit later. I've thought about replacing it, and continue to keep on the lookout, but it's just the right size and doesn't take up much space.

A few pitchers and a couple of little teapots. None of it is expensive even though a few pieces are the real thing.

In keeping with the "fruit" and "faux bois" theme of the Majolica, I added a little vintage botanical print and some seed packets on a stacked flower frog display. My vintage Chalk Chicken is here stalking any loose seeds.

This old teapot with a grape theme is one of my favorite pieces.

This little guy is "new".

I'm using a real Majolica pitcher with a flower and bird design
here on the little white cobbler's bench, aka coffee table-foot rest.

These are older pieces; they all have little chips or cracks,
otherwise I wouldn't have been able to afford them.

If you didn't catch my Summer Home Tour, you can see it here. There are links to the daily lineups after my tour. Hope you're having a wonderful Father's Day Weekend!

  1. Hi Debra! I always love to see how you've decorated this little baker's rack! Love your little pieces and I pray you're feeling good.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  2. The beautiful pieces really go well in your setting of white. I'm wanting to paint our walls white, or at least lighter, for just that reason. I love how everything always seems to fit so well in your home.

  3. Absolutely beautiful. As always. :)

  4. I enjoyed this! Love your majolica, Debra, and both of your favorites are mine as well.

  5. You have a wonderful majolica collection. Such beautiful pieces. I love that chicken too. Such a cutie.

  6. Oooo! Aren't these pretty! I love majolica, and have just a few pieces (flower pots), but there is something so special about the real deal, isn't there?

  7. You have a beautiful collection. I bet each piece brings you joy.

  8. Such beautiful pieces Debra!
Thanks so much for sharing at AMAZE ME MONDAY!

  9. Debra, I always enjoy seeing your seasonal decor and your vintage collections. I like to do the same here. I have more than I can keep out all the time, so rotating things in and out is a fun way to enjoy what we have.

  10. What a lovely collection! I've always wanted to buy some, but it's probably best that I haven't lol Thanks for sharing at Vintage Charm. xo Kathleen

  11. I always so enjoy seeing your bakers rack! They are the best combination of beautiful and useful, and I don't really understand why they are not as popular anymore. Nonetheless, I have 3 and would not part with them for anything. Your bakers racks always inspire me.!

  12. Majolica pottery is really very special, and yours looks right at home on the baker's rack. You are being featured at the FWF link party! Thanks for sharing :)
