Vintage Inspiration Friday #18 Counting Down to the New Year

So, I have this sideboard in my hallway.
It's really too big for the space, but it's in sight of the kitchen
and I walk by it a million times a day.
It's my favorite spot to decorate along with my sunroom.
But the sideboard gets totally redone each month.
(slight obsession here)

I've wanted to put together a shelf filled with my tarnished silver
and thought that celebrating the beginning of the New Year
would be perfect "timing".

I realize that it's not the best fit, but it will probably only be here for a few weeks.
I'd love to have a cabinet just for my silver, but as yet I haven't figured that one out.

Please try and ignore the ginormous brass doorbell and ill placed thermostat.

(shhhhh...I'm already planning my Valentine Display)

Here are a few photos and links of some of the posts from last week.
Just some fun photos that deserve a shout out!

  40. Debra,

You have such a magical touch, love the new arrangement!

You are going to get a kick out of this, my little grand was watching a cartoon so I decided to pop in on a few blogs until it was over, yours being one of them. He loves clocks and was so excited to see yours. I was scrolling down until we came to the photo of your Santa. I asked his who that was and after studying the photo he said, "It's God. Yep, that's God."

    Have a happy weekend!

  42. What a wonderful way to enjoy all of your beautiful silver...I think you might be tempted to keep this one for a while, leaving the silver as the anchor and changing it up with other flourishes to fit the season or your current inspiration. Always a delight to visit you here and I wish you a New Year filled with blessings and abundance.

  57. That is just beautiful Debra! Your decor is always so pretty, I love the silver! Your doorbell was hardly noticeable, ours is hideous and one day I couldn't take it any more and I hot glued a picture ove it! yup I really did! It is not on a wall where anything else will fit anyway and so it worked out well! I love all of the inspiration here, I really need to join the party this week. I hope your Christmas was lovely and that 2011 brings many blessings your way! Theresa xoxo
