Fall Nesting in the Sunroom

I warned you...

...that my Sunroom would be the first to change with the seasons.
Sorry you have to see it so often, but it is just my favorite part of my house.
I just love old quilts and this gives me an excuse
to change them out each month.
I found this one last year, and the orange and black, with some navy blue,
just really gets me in that festive fall mood.

(Pinwheel pattern)

Miss Jenkins loves the sunroom as much as I do,
but she doesn't "love" the camera,
like Miss Wrigley does.

Had to change out the wreath and ribbon too.

Another one of my favorite fall quilts. This one is really old.
I bought it in Atlanta 20 years ago.
(Wild Geese or Flying Geese)
After Halloween, this one will go on the settee.

My three little white squash.

Love these old orange garden tools.

Mums in an old wire fry basket.

Vintage orange teapot from my recent finds.

Baker's Rack all dressed for fall.

Little Japanese Apple Jam Pot.

Love these old Twining Tea tins.

My favorite, Angel Vine, in a small vintage pitcher.

Very old birdcage with a naughty little crow.

This one comes with it's very own REAL spider webs...
a little early for Halloween.

Here's look'n at you, Kid!

This is Fall Nesting Week at The Inspired Room.
I'm doing posts that celebrate the change of the season.
So for me, part of that is the change of decor.
Hope you have fun decorating your favorite spots for Fall!

Fall Nesting on White Wednesday

Metal Motel Chairs...I can still remember sitting on them in my grandparents yard. I'd pull one close to where my grandmother was working in the garden, for a rest. I remember how the metal would scorch my little legs because my sunsuit offered no protection... a long, long time ago.

I found this one a couple of years ago. It had been white,
so it received a coat of white spray paint.
But I soon found that nothing was stopping the rust from peeking out.
I'm quite fond of that rust right now... shows the age of it.

Speaking of age...I'm trying hard to not let the "rust"
on my exterior change who I am. I want to enjoy life
and be the woman that still feels young,
vibrant, energized and happy. Contentment from the inside,
that doesn't depend on outward circumstances.
That's what I'm striving for.
Just thought I'd share a little from my heart today.
God has to be the author of that.
I can't work it up by myself.

This is a white squash I found over the weekend. He's real.

Great rusty patina, don't you think?

My fascination with Angel Vine this year has caused me to accumulate several.
This one resides in a vintage white McCoy flowerpot...

on a vintage mesh metal flea market side table.

This is a market basket filled with a dried gourd from last year
and a faux painted pumpkin.

Vintage flowerpots and white sprinkler are ready for baby mums.

I'm participating in two parties again today.
Melissa over at The Inspired Roomis hosting "Fall Nesting Week"
to help get us "in the mood" for fall.

And Kathleen at Faded Charm is hosting our wonderful White Wednesday!
Please be sure and click on the links for more fun!

Yeah, It's Fall, Y'all!!!

What I Rescued This Weekend, Monday and Update on Desk

We woke up this morning to temperatures in the upper 50's! Wow, it felt like fall, but the sun sooned warmed us up, even though we stayed in the low 70's all day. I think this is the coolest August we've had for a long, long time. I have to say that August is my least favorite month of the year. Sorry all you great people out there with August birthdays, my husband included. The only redeemable quality to August, in my book, is that the next month is September. Yes, Fall!

So off we went Junkin', but today furniture was not to be found, just some great small goodies, and you know I'm always up for some "small" things.
And as you might have noticed the desk from last week has been painted. I have to say that it looks soooo much better in person. The garage lighting and the tightness of the space, which didn't allow for a good shot, just doesn't do it justice.

Before shot, last Sunday.

Yes, you have seen this one, but remember the photos from "Highlights" magazine, the ones where you had to guess what's different with the picture. OK, look at this one, then look at the next one. Who sees "what's different?"

Can you see it? Yes, the cat carcass on the left.
One of my garage assistants, Miss Wrigley.

My Hubbs found this great black chippy hand mirror.

Great silver stuff.

Another find from my husband. A couple's vacation portraits.
Wish I knew where. In the original frames.
Can't you just imagine these on a mantle or a bedroom vanity?

Little ceramic cream pitcher.

Love this great little silk coin purse.

Jewelry casket, apothacary jar, cake stand, and prisms.

I think this is a calendar graphic.

Cute little black bench in the background.

Jesus prints...I just love them.

Another old crucifix.

Silver goblets and champagne glass.

Old photos of families. I don't see "family" photos very often.

Wonderful old Cabinet Cards.

Do you know why they are called "cabinet cards"? You probably do,
but I didn't... because they were meant to lean against something in a cabinet,
Not to be put in frames.
Be sure to check in with Polly, over at Sassafras Stuff,
to see her junkin finds.

Have a great week,
Hope you found tons of great Junk this last weekend!
