Love You More...

Hi Friends, This year thinking about Valentine's Day decorating, I thought I'd try to lean toward some rustic settings. January is usually a time I keep out the more rustic elements of Christmas and winter like "leftover" evergreen trees, pinecones, and winter garden elements.

The baker's rack was already put together with those woodsy, winter elements so I thought I'd try to add in some Valentine's Day pieces and see how that worked.

I changed up a few pieces on the shelves, then added in the Valentines. One of my ironstone pitchers took on a Christmas evergreen tree, and a few small vintage clay pots with bottle brush trees.

My paternal grandfather was a printer, and I'm fortunate to have a few of his personal cards to my grandmother.

One of my Altered Bingo Card Valentines from 2010 leans against the small spice rack. And a favorite stuffed heart sits in an old bed spring. I've had these old springs forever but usually forget to use them... hard to get more "rustic" than old bed springs.

My "Wee Lambie" feels a bit primitive so he's part of the mix.

My unadorned moss heart is here on the baker's rack shelf. Here are the posts sharing how I created this one and the floral one I usually use.

Being the Junk lover that I am, I confiscated our front porch lantern that stopped working during our 20 below weather last month. It's not dressed up, but I thought I'd try it out instead of waiting for next Christmas. A mercury glass votive sits on the vintage books.

More of the Baker's Rack for Valentine's Day coming up next post.

Thanks for coming by to visit...

Did you catch my last post?

Here are a few more posts for Valentine's Day.

  1. I love how you are mixing winter with your valentines. That little heart pillow is so cute. Big hugs and have a great weekend. Kris

  2. Sweet Valentines with season appropriate touches. I love the card from your grandfather's printing days. That's really special.
As we head into this Valentine week, I'm feeling a little guilty for wanting to push right into St Patrick's Day, but I'll blame it on the beautiful weather we've had this past week with all things green starting to show up. I still have a few hearts scattered, but admittedly starting putting out a little more green! ❤️☘️

    1. Everything is squished on the calendar. I just looked and saw that Easter is March 31. eeeck!! Gotta get the bunnies out fast!!

  3. This is such sweet vignette Debra. So many great details as always, but that Valentine's from you uncle is precious! I love stuff like that. Happy Valentine's Day. XO- MaryJo

  4. This is so sweet, Debra. I love how you integrated your vintage valentines and pieces into such a charming and enchanting whole! So lucky with your largely white scheme how bright and happy those reds look. LOVE it! Oh, and your grandfather's card. I love it.

  5. I love this vintage, classic look. Beautiful. Visiting from Wonderful Wednesday linkup.
