The White Rabbit

While we were in St. Louis, my daughter and I had a couple of fun days of shopping. These pics are from my fave store,
The White Rabbit.  Hope you enjoy, and if you're in the area please stop by, it's really a wonderful store, with a great mix of vintage and new.

Here's their mascot, ready for Trick or Treat

Crazy skeleton pillow from another great store,

She had to have it for her front porch!

Fall on the Sunporch

Just a few overdue pics from the sunporch for Fall...

Making use of the bittersweet and some deer antlers.

These next few are some of my fave pics from this season.
Just look at the face of complete innocence...

now wait a minute, girlie!

Here's the other one.

I always have fun mixing and matching the quilts and pillows for a new look each year.

If you'd like to see what I did last year,
then here are some pics from last year's porch.

Being away from home for almost a week, I feel like I'm trying to play catch up. There are so many things I wanted to do this Fall, but taking care of my sweetie has been my top priority. We saw a specialist in St. Louis last week for his inner ear, vertigo, and hearing loss. This doctor told us more in 5 minutes than we had been given in months and months of doctors visits and therapy. Hubbs is on a medication regimen at the moment, but we have options for down the road...much more hope and confidence for recovery than we were having before. Anyway, hope you enjoyed the photos from this week on the sunporch. Ahhhh....my favorite season for decorating out here.

If you didn't make it by earlier in the week, come check out all the great shopping links at the Marketplace; just scroll down to the last post. It's live all week, so feel free to link up any of your Etsy or Boutique Items.

"Hooked" on Wool Pillows for Fall

Last weekend my sister and our friend, Susan, made our annual visit to the Ozark Crafts Festival held every first full weekend in October. We always look forward to it, and we've said the only way not to go is if you had a legitimate excuse like being in the hospital or worse. We go, no matter what, and this year the "no matter what" about froze us to death. It was rainy and drizzly and only in the low 40's but nothing would keep us from our kettle corn, sugared nuts, corndogs and aisles and aisles of crafts, antiques, and loads of Fabulous Fall Fun. That's the phrase my sister coined to describe all the junk we love to do this time of year.

I found some more of the costly bittersweet, and a few other goodies, but my fave purchase of the day was this wonderful hooked wool pillow of a pumpkin with a crazy vine, and a black crow. Just the perfect addition to the Sun Porch Fall decor.

This was my purchase last year;
An adorable curly sheep on a great tan plaid.

And this from the year before.
I think I've started something here.

Here are a few other fun Hooked Wool Fall Pillows that you'll find on my newly created Pinterest board, "Happy Hooking".  Hope you'll come by my Pinterest Page and follow along. If you pin any of these next three images please go to the original source on my Pinterest Board. thanks bunches!

Hope you're having a wonderful week,
enjoying all the goodness of Fall.

On the Porch

I'm going to admit that I've been dragging my feet about posting any photos of the outside of the house, because I just haven't been able to get good ones. The front is heavily shaded and if it's overcast out, then just forget it. blah, boring, washed out. So we had some sunshine the other day, and I managed to get a few shots, but I'm warning you they are sort of lackluster. I did my best to dress them up a little for you. This little half park bench that I keep out here is my favorite pic.

I did bring out one of my Fall Pendleton wool throws to bring in a little color, and then added  some of that "worth it's weight in gold" bittersweet vine to the mix. I'm going to have to include bittersweet in every blog post I do this Fall, just to get my money's worth out of it!

I always have a hard time decorating the porch, so this year I invested in some vintage concrete urns that are painted white, for the mums. They are heavy little boogers, so hubby had to deal with them. But they do class it up a little, which always seems to be the issue.

Thank you PicMonkey for all your help!

I guess I just need about $200 worth
of extra pumpkins sitting around out here.
 Maybe that would help.
That, or a personal visit from Martha Stewart.
Wonder how much she charges for house calls?

We're in for a freeze tonight so this will all have to be covered. I can usually keep my Boston ferns until the first of November, but it might not happen this year. I hate throwing them away until it's just too cold for them.

I'm really loving this plump one here in front.
white, with some green and orange veining.

And I think this one is called a Peanut Pumpkin,
see, what did I tell you about the photos?
OK, gotta round up those old sheets and blankets
so I can tuck these babies in for the night!
