Love is in the Air Valentine Entry

Hello Friends, are you ready to start thinking about Valentine's Day? Love, Romance, and all that sweet stuff, or are you still tripping over yet-to-be-put-away tubs of Christmas decor? Today I'm part of a great group of gals who are sharing inspiration and some great ideas for celebrating Valentine's Day. Our sweet and talented hostess for the gathering is Laura from Decor to Adore. If you're coming from Lora Bloomquist's Blog, Create and Ponder, then I'm so glad you're here and following the Hop.

Here in the Entry, I gathered some vintage elements for a romantic look
with florals, garden statuary, and an antique tray.

I usually have Paperwhites here in the entry this time of year, but I kept out an arrangement of faux Amaryllis and star lilies and another small single Amaryllis that I often use for Christmas and January. Then I thought I'd just go for a bit more of a botanical look with a wild vine with white winterberries draped around the antique mirror.

I love using this antique metal cupid tray for Valentine's Day, and I thought I'd bring in my concrete garden cupid statue to help celebrate and keep the vintage theme going with the look of an old Conservatory / Greenhouse feel. I love the look of layering mirrors, frames, and prints for a true vintage feel.

A stack of red antique books tied with a satin ribbon and a handmade crown for Cupid, bring in some color and sparkle. This crown was made by a friend's daughter years ago when I had a vintage market space. It was during the height of shabby/French decorating.

My vintage concrete cupid garden statue is usually in the Garden Room, but I brought him in here to celebrate Valentine's Day on the console and create a more conservatory look.

I usually just have the round antique mirror above the console, but I decided to layer the gothic window frame and an ornate cream and gold antique frame for a little more romantic Victorian feel.

I love old books, and finding this set of 3 volumes of classics published in 1849 has been an amazing find.

I like to think that Valentine's Day brings us just a bit closer to Spring. And if I can use some beautiful florals and botanicals to give us a small glimpse of what's to come then it's all the more to celebrate.

I used some of these same garden elements last year for

And here's 2021 Valentine's Day Entry

  9. I enjoyed your older post...the freshness of wiping the slate clean from a holiday. A bit of a cleanse and new start...I simply can't wrap my head around another holiday, and am simply sitting back glistening in the mounds of snow and simplicity. Kudos to you gals for leaping ahead! Lovely ideas, Sandi
