Holiday Home Christmas Tour 2022

Hi Friends, I wanted to take a minute and share a short version of my Christmas Home Tour for 2022. Yes, it's after Christmas, but I wanted to do a Christmas tour "Diary" of sorts so I can look back and see how I decorated this year.

My dollhouse, Father Christmas and Antitque Rocking Horse gathered in the Garden Room to greet guests.

I brought out my copper pieces in late Fall, and decided I would try to use them at Christmas too. I just minimized red and stuck to more neutral Christmas items. I was surprised at how easily the copper pieces integrated into my other pieces.

I have a deep love for transferware and Tartan, especially at Christmas, so I thought I'd give an "Official Christmas Tablescape" a whirl. Red transferware and a Tartan tablecloth with a Lennox Christmas Cookie Jar came together to create a whimsical rustic tablecsape in the Garden Room.

More copper showed up in the Holiday Cupboard this Christmas Season. I focused on neutral vintage houses, reindeer, metallic vintage ornaments, red transferware and ironstone.

I love little houses of all kinds and Gingerbread themes were showing up all over blogland. So I thought I'd try a fun little DIY, painting small wood blocks to look like mini gingerbread abodes.

My first Christmas post of this season was with one of my vintage geese decoys nesting in an antique copper boiler on the hearth. I hadn't shared the copper boiler before, so it was fun to break it out for Christmas decorating.

I wanted a new focal piece for the mantel this year and found a wonderful sheep themed framed grain sack for center stage. It was beautiful for Christmas and I'm planning on leaving it up for a while this winter.

New large white house lanterns, antique ironstone pitchers, and drybrushed grapevine cone topiaries are on either side.

I like to keep the Dining Room with a French Country vibe and conentrate on neutrals since I have so much red plaid throughout the rest of the house. This year I used one of my large white wooden lanterns setting inside a wooden seed flat.

My Lifestyle of Love vintage group shared our collections during Christmas.

A few of my Christmas pics didn't make it into posts so I shared a few of them in the Cookbook Cupboard and Garden Room.

Hope you're having a great week and are having a warm up. 61 today instead of negative 10. Do you have plans for New Year's Eve?

Hope you'll come by the link party on Monday evenings.

  3. Your 2022 Christmas decor was stunning, Debra. I love all the neutrals and the copper too. You added just enough red in tartans and transferware to bring out the traditional Christmas. I have now tucked all mine away as of this morning, and am already thinking how I can do less with as much impact next year. My problem is I keep most everything I have (except through the big purge with downsizing which, this year, I ended up replacing several of those things, sigh). For now, I enjoy the quiet of January through the house. Happy new year.
