Hello there dear friends! I hope you all are having a wonderful Father's Day Weekend. I wanted to share part 2 of the Hearth Room patriotic decor, that I started earlier this week. The Hearth Room has a lot of fun spots to decorate seasonally, so I concentrated on the mantel and seating area in Part 1.

Breadboards in Vintage Decor

These workhorse kitchen items of the past used to be plentiful at garage sales and flea markets but recently are becoming harder and harder to find. And those you can find have crazy high prices. So I'm sharing some old ones, some new ones, and reproduction pieces.

Summer Patriotic Door Basket with Ticking Fabric Ribbon

Last week I worked on getting my front porch presentable and decked out with a Patriotic Summer vibe. During the summer months I keep a red/white/blue theme with pillows, flowers, and my door basket. I add in flags the last couple of weeks of June into July and then remove them after that first week of July. That color scheme works throughout Summer until late August when I start bringing in some sunflowers and early Fall colors.

Patriotic Color on the Summer Front Porch

I start thinking about Patriotic decorating in early June in anticipation of July 4th. For Memorial Day we usually put out a flag at the front of the house, but I start bringing out the red/white/blue in early June, which I keep out usually until the end of July.

Vintage Market Cottage Finds

This week we made a quick trip to my favorite vintage market in town. Vintage Peddler, and did a run through to see what was new this month. Things change so fast here that merchandise is constantly coming in and going out. I can always find a few things I love. I don't need anything big, but sure enjoy the inspiration and nabbing a few cute smaller items.

in the area for a late spring /early summer visit. 

You all know I definitely have a soft spot for wheelbarrows, carts, and wagons, etc. Anything with wheels and preferable could fit on top of a table or cabinet for display... So here's a wonderful vintage piece from my friends Sara and Abby at Sweet Magnolia's Farm here at The Vintage Peddler in Springfield. It's my go-to vintage market for a quick get-away that gives me a much needed boost of inspiration and fun seasonal ideas.

May has always been Bird Month for me. Around here we have nest building, new babies, and new faces at the feeders. I've collected a bit of bird themed vintage items during my time as a vintage market dealer, picking up figurines, tins, illustrations and ephemera during the years.
