Garden Room Farm Table in May

This time of year in late Spring, we just don't know what each day's weather will bring. Even the weather forecasters aren't sure. One day it's sunny and 80, the next day it pours rain all day and is in the 60's. I took these pics in April and wanted to get a few more of the Garden Room this last week, but I decided to just go ahead and share them before tulip-time was over.

My minty-green vintage watering can is my go-to for late spring,
and it's corralled here in my old crate with an ivy in a vintage matte pottery flower pot.

I like to add in a vintage linen tea towel for a bit of color and pattern.
As you'll see I changed them out a bit looking for just the right one.

It's really hard to find old kitchen linens that are still in good shape.
So many have holes or the embroidery is disintegrating.
I don't use them any longer, I just like to display them.

After some tweaking, I thought I'd try out the vintage "cottage" towel.
This is one of my favorite little vintage textile pieces.

I love keeping this farm table vignette changed up each month.
We're still having tulips here in our area right now,
but soon the old bucket will be filled with hydrangeas,
daisies or a mix of summer florals.

I shared my Buffalo Check pillows in this post.
I just love this shade of green this time of year.

I don't think of Mr. Bunns as an "Easter" bunny,
so he's still here and is watching over the grouping
of plants here on the console/sofa table.
Maybe he's deciding which to nibble on next.

Here's the post from last year's May Garden Room.

Did you catch my last post?

Please come back this Saturday when a group is getting together
to share how we use cabinets and hutches in our decor.
I bet you can just imagine where this will be heading with me.

I hope you all are doing well,

We hope you'll come by on Monday evenings for the link party.

  3. Totally loving the sweet little cottage towel...so pretty and fresh. I wish I had the energy to change my decor---but it sorta is just what it is at the moment, busy with projects away from home and garden plants still in the greenhouse and in growing flats. Spring hangs on here for a long time! Sandi

  4. Fresh, and season-appropriate. I've always loved how you used faux florals that are in season. We're just a couple weeks ahead of you, so I just this past week put my tulips away. Have a great weekend. Happy Mother's Day.

  5. I love the tulips. On of my favorite flowers. I have a tendency to use the faux ones much longer than is in season.

  7. Awww, I love that rabbit!!! I have three bunnies under our television on the library/tea table I moved over from the living room. They are cheerful and meh... It's still spring! ;) Enjoy your bunny! I like all the tea towels you've shared... The cottage one is very cute! I have pillow cases that Charles' grandmother and mother made for him (a Nationals one for Pole Vault when he vaulted on his birthday that year), and a pair his grandmother made us as a wedding present. I've used them so much that yes, I'll have to try and redo the stitching; otherwise, the pillowcases are still good.

Happy to feature your sweet post at tonight's SYS #303 for you. <3
Hugs from my rabbits to yours,
    Barb :)

  10. Debra, I have one embroidered dish towel from nearly 45 years ago. It isn't nearly as pretty as your piece of linen, but I keep it for sentimental reasons. Your vignette in the garden room is perfect for May :)
Thank you for sharing it at the FWF link party.
P.S. keeping you in my prayers for the up-coming surgery.
