Romantic Valentine Review

Hi Friends, are you doing any Valentine's Day decor at your place? Well, I'm still decorating around here and putting away a few of the Christmas holdouts, so today I thought I'd share a few pics from previous posts. This first one is from last year on the Cookbook Nook with some Valentine fun.

This is a great spot to share some seasonal display.

A Vintage Romance

Creating a mini vignette under glass is a fun way to put together a little holiday focal point or centerpiece. A tiny iron urn with a vintage creamer full of roses and a vintage Valentine postcard become elevated and more eye-catching on the Entryway Console.

A fabric rose heart-shaped wreath is usually on the Entry way mirror.

My favorite way to decorate for any holiday is to incorporate vintage pieces to the mix. I do have a few vintage and antique Valentines and some candy boxes, but I like to use some of my collections, especially anything with pink or red and floral. Here I have a pitcher probably from the 40's or 50's with a pastel rose motif, filled with a small bouquet of faux flowers.

The Baker's Rack in the Kitchen Sitting Area at our previous house
was a fun place to decorate for holidays.

A small red Toile coverlet always seems to make it into the Valentine decor.

My Moss Covered Heart that I made several years ago,
has a Valentine satin ribbon anchoring it to my vintage mirror.

Do you need a little gift for a friend?
Other vintage pieces that have a romantic vibe can be made
a little more "Holiday" by adding a specialty ribbon.

Romantic vintage prints and jewelry boxes.

Make a Red Transferware cup and saucer a that special little gift.

A stack of books looks more romantic with a lush ribbon.

Frame a vintage postcard...

Beribboned Cordon Bleu cow creamers

Vintage Bingo cards become a Valentine greeting.

Vintage Teapots

Creamers with mini Rosebuds

Silverware...

These are pics from 2 houses ago with some of those favorite teapots.

Sideboard in the Hall at that previous house.

  6. Debra, just beautiful...!!! I love the collection of older photos from your blog and new ones together. I always loved those LOVE button tags!!! They inspired a bunch of crafts that my friends in California from my last tea group to make some things. <3 Happy to feature your post at this past week's Share Your Style #292! :) **I did get it on there late but it's there for other folks to see! (Dumb me, I had been saving pics and then I think I had internet trouble or something then didn't pick up your main photo. All good now!)
