Welcome Home Christmas Home Tour 2019

This is the first year in our new-to-us cottage and we've had a long year of renovations, updating, moving, organizing, and lastly a major landscape redo. Most of our living space is on the main level and we love having the open spaces to spread out. I like to have a photo journal each year of our home decorated for Christmas. So even though this is a little late, it's my way of looking back on and remembering this wonderful time of year.

The Garden Room

One of my favorite spaces is the large sunroom addition on the back of the house.
It's bright and light filled which makes it a perfect space for my vintage pieces
and wicker sitting area.  An old pie safe cupboard is the focal point
of the sitting area that rotates seasonally. Here it's filled with vintage
Christmas goodies, and accented with Tartan Plaid.

A favorite spot to decorate, the Baker's Rack is filled
with vintage cookie tins and plaid Thermos pieces.

...an old painted church pew with an applique quilt
and goat cart that is carrying my woodsy rustic Father Christmas.

The Garden Room casual dining area is where my farmtable
and kitchen china cupboard live. The china cabinet houses
 most of my transferware.

The farmtable is a great place for large seasonal vignettes.

The Hearth Room

The perfect cozy spot to cuddle up by the fire...

The Antique Sideboard

This is a family piece that I had almost written off
because of the aged orange finish.
I painted it in Chalk Paint before we moved,
hoping it would work here at the new place.

Thanks so much for coming by for the Christmas Home Tour, and I hope you enjoyed all the Tartan Plaid fun. I've listed the individual posts of room highlights, in case you missed any of them. As always, you all are appreciated so much. Thankyou for blessing me throughout this wonderful Holiday Season!!

  5. Wow, Debra, what a journey it's been, and how incredibly successful you've been in transforming your new home! Not even mentioning all the renovative work, just the decorating alone is huge. I'm so very happy for you to have a place where you can live comfortably and be inspired to enjoy your flair for styling, and with so much vintage goodness. The layered goodies were fun to zoom in on, especially with all that tartan. I hope your New Year is your best yet. xo

  10. Debra, your home is absolutely stunning with all the tartan, bagpipers on tins and whites!!! I'll look for your post in the group of SYS from two weeks ago and if not, then I'll just pop by (thinking you'll share it this week) and grab a photo to share. It kind of goes with my whole New Year's theme of French Nordic whites (post going out on 12/31). :)

Stunning and there are sooo many layers to look at! Love it all!!!
    Happy New Year hugs,
    Barb :)
