New Kilim Pillows in the Hearth Room

Having an off -white slipcovered sofa, chair and ottoman has really enabled me to be more creative in my Hearth Room decor. I'd been obsessed with white slipcovered furniture for years, but I'd never had the right space to put them in. Now that I am livin' my "white sofa dream", I'm going a little crazy with monthly change-ups. A quilt and pillow stash and a "no-stepladder-needed" mantel have made it much easier to change things up.

I'm not sure how long ago, but I'm thinking it's been about 3 or 4 years, I decided that I was going to hunt down some Kilim pillows. At that time I was planning on using them on our sofa and loveseat set that was in our main level Living Room. I knew I would need at least 4, maybe 5 or 6 to somewhat match pattern wise. I started looking but it took me awhile to find that many that had a similar design.

I wanted colors that were earthy and more "Fallish" that would match my odd gray/khaki sofas. Last year late Summer and Fall were taken over with the move, so I didn't even bother trying to decorate. But a few weeks ago after the red, white, and blue Patriotic decor was packed away, I decided to bring out the majolica for the mantel and thought I'd try to locate the Kilim pillowcovers. I finally found them... and I'm really enjoying trying something a little different decor wise.

(as usual, to get some light in here I have to blast on all the overhead lighting)

I love the colors and texture that really lend themselves to a cozy and comfortable setting.

I have one of my stuffed down ticking bedpillows here on the sofa. I have several of them that my husband's late grandmother hand made for us as a wedding present. (that makes them by definition, "vintage") I think ticking is a neutral that goes with almost anything. That ticking pillow IS extra comfy just in case you need to lie down while reading.

Here are a couple of other posts I've done on Kilim rugs, pillows and patterns.

*This is not a sponsored post,
but here is the link to the site where I purchased my pillows.

I'll share the rest of the Hearth Room and the mantel next week.
Do you have fun stuff planned for this weekend?
Hope you have a great one, friends!

  1. I love kilim, Debra. It blends well with several decor themes and style, and you have a nice assortment to go with your neutrals. I remember having my eye on several pillows in the past, but never sprung for them because I thought too pricey. This is a great source. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Hey Rita, I know about the price. When I first started looking the pillow covers were all well over 50 each, and since I needed a bunch of different ones I took my time. These are all around 25 and the real deal. Much more affordable. I can really see Kilim in your new place, it goes so well with a more sleek and modern vibe. Hope you've had a great weekend!

  2. Debra,
Love the hues within your Kilim pillows!
I, too, use kilim pillows in our lower level Family Room on my cream colored sofa.
I watched a set of five @ Pottery Barn and caught them on an amazing $ale for $100, year ago!
I tuck in an occasional solid color pillow for a change, but the kilim pillows stay year 'round.
I, too, am getting anxious for Autumnal Decor!
    Keep the inspiration coming!

  7. I have been looking at pillows so your review is just perfect. I have seen these but they are not cheap and I was not sure if they worked. I would love to give it a try since it worked for you. I put off buying pillows because I always have a hard time deciding to go cheap or more expensive and hope it is worth it. Eco-Friendly Memory Foam.
