My Year in Pictures...

Hi Friends, I hope you had a Wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to a Happy New Year. Last year I started what I think will be a new tradition. Instead of having multiple posts about the most viewed posts or whatever, from the last year of blogging, I just decided to share some of my favorite pics and ideas from the year. Some may seem random, but they have stuck in my memory. There are links to the particular post, but you can see much more by just following my journey in my Archives which are on the sidebar.

My vintage painted suitcases which have lived in my lower level family areas for years, came upstairs last January to be some space "filler" under my sofa table. I'd had a large vintage flower box, but needed a change. I've enjoyed seeing them here, and they uaually seem  to have a seasonal blanket or throws stacked to grab for a cuddle.

After Christmas I always like to move to a more neutral palette. Having reds and greens and tons of Plaid for Christmas is a joy, but I'm ready for a more calming atmosphere after putting away all the Holiday decor.

I asked the question Is "Mushroom" the New Gray in Wall Color Trends?  since I'm more of a "mushroom" kind of person. I love grays, but sometimes find them too blue or green or lavender. I love the natural earthy colors, and my taste seem to lean to decor with a gray-brown color base. I think it was my highest viewed post of the year.

I have hardly ever shared photos of our Master Bedrooms because they are usually one of the "least decorated" rooms in our home. I like to keep things simple  and uncluttered, since the carpet seems to contribute to dust. I'm not a fan of fussy window treatments so just white blinds are my window covering of choice. Last year this post, Out of My Comfort(er) Zone was one of the top viewed posts. Yikes, it's scary thinking so many people saw this...

Winters aren't terribly long here in SW Missouri, but they can be cold and bleak. Once March rolls around I'm looking for any excuse to bring out some blooms and bunnies and start hunting for signs of anything "green". I put this little umbrella together several years ago, but I keep it intact, so it's easy to add a quick pop of Early Spring to the Kitchen.

I've had this little wagon for years and years, which had been painted black. The black suited it fine until we moved here and I decided it needed to be on the Dining Room Table. The black wasn't working anymore and needed to blend in with the other decor. So here I painted it a soft gray, and put together a French Wagon Vignette for Spring.

Our area has a great variety of Antique Malls, Decor Shops, Tea Rooms and Vintage Markets. They can keep you shopping for days and deplete your budget in a hurry. My sister and I try to make the rounds or at least hit some of them monthly. We have a couple that we're partial to because each time you go in it's a new experience. With some great local vendors, there is always a ton of great stuff to browse through and lots of inspiration and ideas for your own decor. Last Spring we really enjoyed our trip, Out and About at The Vintage Peddler, here in Springfield.

What would Summer be without Sunflowers? They are iconic for late Summer, whether you have Country French, or Country, or Farmhouse decor. Here's my tribute in an old wooden ice cream bucket with my favorite "pairing", a Ticking tablerunner. Farmhouse Sunflower Tabletop

More Sunflowers in the Dining Room with a Sunflower Botanical Cloche

My girlies were here in town for this post, This and That, from last July. I have some family things to share with all of you, and I'll be doing that very soon. My sister wasn't around when this was taken (even though it's at her house) as she had a hair appointment. We both go to the same stylist, and you make appointments months in advance.

Before I knew it, it was time to think about Fall, so I did this post, 10 Tips for Transitioning to Fall which was also in my top most viewed posts. I like to ease into the Seasons, since the seasons don't change overnight. You'll find my love for flowers and nature as a predominate theme in my home decor.

I like to stretch out Autumn, so I make it last as long as I can. This is one look I had here in the Fall Entry and Home Tour.

Another vintage shopping trip here with the post, Fall Shopping at the Vintage Markets. I love this idea to take inexpensive cardboard vintage prints and make them a one-of-a-kind statement piece.

I had an idea in my head for a new Fall Wreath.
Here's what happened when I found one online;
it became my ReStyled Fall Wreath.

I had a little fun with this vintage birdcage dressed up for a little Halloween theme,

I introduced our new Little Black Cat with this vintage bookpage framed print.

Changing up my Dining Room table is always a seasonal tradition.

Finding a vintage Fishing Basket gave me a new way
to decorate with Autumn Foliage in our Fall Home Tour.

It's all in the (vintage) details with my 2017 Christmas Home Tour

My Kitchen China Cupboard is not immune to being "decked" each season, especially at Christmas. Here I shared a Nature Themed Christmas Cupboard, my favorite so far.

Tartan Plaid has become the Christmas tradition around here,
and it's seen throughout the house.
I especially enjoy going crazy with it in my Plaid Christmas Kitchen

Thanks so much for coming by and reliving this last year with me.
I have a new resolve for this next year, as I can finally see improvement in my health.

I'll share more next time.
Have a Wonderful New Year's Eve.
