This is what happens when you store your "stuff" vertically...

The scene of the crime:

I was looking through this stack of old mirrors and frames,
trying to find something to put together a memory board...

when this...

lovely little chippy metal flower cart
(precariously perched on top)

fell on
this...

(Above is the "before" picture.
I wouldn't dare show the "after" shot.
Trust me, it's scary!)
So now I look and feel like this...

It didn't require stitches because,
(I know this sounds horrible),
it scraped the skin right off.

No bruising, but I do look like I had a run in
with a small truck... er, cart!

So if I'm a little more wonky than usual...
you'll know the reason.

I'm hoping I have no social engagements
that I will need to attend
in the next few days.

I'm thanking God that it wasn't worse,
that I have bangs,
and hoping some skin will grow back.
(sorry this is so yucky to talk about)

Great way to finish off a holiday weekend!

Love ya,
Debra

  1. Oh' Poor Debra. I know just how you feel. I fell twice a week and a half ago. Once off the porch. Do you think we're in a rush trying to do too much.

Take it easy and please take care of yourself!

    Love, Tracy :)

  13. Debra,

Bio Oil just helped remove my latest booboo scar. Try some of that. So sorry, you were hurt. Why does it always hurt worse as we age? As kids we could crash on a bike and get right back up and keep going....Now? OUCH!

The bigger question is why do you have all those frames out in the garage not being used? I know someone who will gladly take them off your hands.... : )

    Take care of yourself.

  25. Be careful...maybe a cute hard hat next time! I am going to show the picture of your "stuff" to my honey to let him know I am not the only one with lots of "stuff"!! Thanks!!

  26. Oh my please be careful. Maybe someone should make your stack a little shorter. I actully do the silliest things at the stores to get things down because I am only a 5 feet tall. Like standing on the bottom shelf and using something longer to pull things down. You need to learn the duck trick. Hope you heal quickly.

  34. Oh my goodness Debra! I'm so sorry about your mis-hap! I can't say I've been injured that badly but I just today had a FEW things fall on top of my head while moving stuff from my old space to my new one. It's amazing how I get things to balance for displays! ha-ha!

Please do take good care of your wound. Prayers for a speedy recovery are in the works!

  37. Debra, This picture looks like my storage unit! My dad always said "I was an accident waiting to happen". This kind of stuff happens to me all the time. I hope you found the stuff for your memory board and that you heal quickly!

  38. OUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooooooo sorry you got hurt. Hope you are better now. I love your hair cut. I would love to do similar. I cut my long hair off last October & went "natural" which means I am letting God highlight it instead of the salon. Sometimes I like it & sometimes I don't. Your hair is adorable. Glad you have bangs too after this. TAKE CARE! Charlene
