What I Rescued Last Week, Monday

Yes, I know, I am the Queen of Smalls. That seems to be pretty much what I found last week. When you have a small booth then it just makes sense to concentrate on smaller items. Believe me, I love big furniture and have had my share of selling it, but since my last heart attack scare last January, I have made a deal with my husband and myself, and that is "not to buy anything I cannot carry myself." (OK...maybe a few items, but nothing like before...old habits are hard to kick!)
I have some really great little tables, shelves, bookcases, etc. that I have in the garage, but I've been on the lookout for darker, "fallish" items, lately. Booth spaces are starting to show signs of fall colors, with leaves and pumpkins showing up, so I guess it's not too early to start the change in my space for fall decor.

I have the update on my table re-do from last Monday.

It took some elbow grease, but it turned out really great and very functional.

Not Quite Fall

Well, before you know it fall will be here, and with it a change in front porch decor. As I have said, I enjoy all the seasons, but fall is my favorite time of year. There is just something about the blue sky, autumn leaves, and lengthening shadows that speak to me. Oh, and don't forget the cooler temperatures, either! So before I put away my red sprinkler and bring out the orange one, I thought I'd share a few front porch photos.

Already time to trim the shrubs!

This is the first year I've planted "Million Bells", in the concrete basket.

I have been on a campaign this spring and summer to get the grass in shape. Bermuda grass that didn't make it and a multitude of weeds have been a huge problem. We live across the street from lake access, so there are plenty of varieties of unwanted specimens floating around. Deer also are a big problem. My hydrangea bush has been noticed and has taken a real beating, or "chewing", as the case may be. One year they ate all my impatiens that I had in a huge window box. It looked like a buzz saw took them out!
I hope you're enjoying the end of summer. We have had a good rain or two lately here in SW Missouri to keep things green, and the temps have been in the mid-to-upper 80's with upper 60's at night, so I can't complain too much. Our average peak temp was earlier in the week, so now I'm considering us on the downhill slide. Yeah Fall!

I'm in Heaven

I just received my fall issue of Victoria Magazine. They have revived their "British Issue" and yes, I am in heaven! I plan on devouring every word and morsel of it. I'm an Anglophile you know, and I truly believe we need to support the magazines we love. A lot has been said in comparing the "New Victoria" to the "Old" one, but as for me, I will subscribe, and support Mrs. Hoffman in her wholehearted effort to carry on the honored tradition.

Fall and England, what a wonderful combination!

White Wednesday, Baa Baa "White" Sheep

As you might have noticed...I love sheep. They have wandered into several of my posts. I have a few collections, but I think my sheep are my favorite...and this is my inspiration.
