Be Inspired #126: Celebrating Love

Happy Valentine's Day!

I'm sending you a little note today
just to let you all know how much you are loved and appreciated.

In keeping with the day,
I wanted to highlight some of the links that shared a romantic,
 sweet, and loving theme.

I "fell in love" with this wonderful vintage window
and Valentine's Day Mantel from Bella's Rose Cottage.

This sweet lace confection started out as a felted cuff bracelet,
but after some contemplation, became a romantic
Needle Case from Kadee Willow.

Jamie from Better With Age
created this fun Valentine-y Heart Banner,
and just look who made a cameo appearance!

Jeanette from Creating a Life encouraged her kiddos to
express their feelings and creativity with this

Marissa from Becoming Kindred, with her girls, created a
Woodland Valentine Mantel in their Dining Room.
LOVE that moss heart!

I just had to share this precious image of one of the latest creations
from our talented friend Rosemary, from Villa Barnes,
Birdie Crowns

...can it get any cuter?

I've heard that it takes months to perfect
these yummy looking Chocolate Macaroons.
Jennifer from Town and Country Living
shares the scoop on her first batch.

My mouth is watering just looking at these...

And Hey...

Vintage Inspiration Friday #24 Vintage Valentine Party

I guess if you want to be a little foo-foo,
then Valentine's Day is the perfect Holiday.

(these sweeties are BIG...over a foot tall)

And since Valentine's Day is about romance,
I thought I'd share a few of my vintage Frenchy couple figurines from Japan.
Try saying that fast three times...

I believe in letting a house somewhat dictate the mood and style of decor.
and since this house has a little Country French feel
I started collecting these figurines when we moved here.
My toile wallpaper is gone, but I still love my ladies and gents.

They live in my nick knack cupboard in my Dining Room.
I thought it would be fun to have them kiss.
Remember how we made Barbie and Ken smooch...?
but I couldn't arrange that and still take a picture.

A few years ago I started finding these little cherub pieces too,
They should be filled with dainty Valentine confections...
vous ne pensez, pas?
(don't you think?)
just love Google Translate!

My sis has resisted the "foofy gene",
so these fell to me.

This cherub chariot was broken,
but nothing a little china epoxy wouldn't mend.

Love the attention to detail...

aaaahhhh, those tiny rosebuds....

Maybe some day I'll get around to painting this little cabinet white.

hope you enjoyed a little frenchy romance!

I know we just got our Christmas things packed and back in storage,

And just to get us in the mood for a little Romance
I wanted to give you a peek at what I've been working on.

These are just a few of the pendant necklaces

Share the Love...

I don't go "all out" for Valentine's Day. I don't think many of us do unless we have kiddos that have fun with it, and expect to see decorations for every holiday that comes along. I enjoy bringing some reds and pinks and vintage items into the decor, especially here in the Kitchen Sitting Area. That's the place where I can indulge my holiday decorating gene to the fullest.

How to Make a Moss Covered Heart

I've always loved using natural elements in seasonal decor and floral arrangements. If it's made of twigs and moss, dried leaves, nuts, acorns, pinecones, dried flowers etc. I'm on it. When I can create something that's holiday related and I can use it year after year, then all the more fun.

Back in 2016 I'd been seeing a lot of gorgeous heart forms covered in moss on Pinterest and in boutique vintage markets and floral shops. Whether it was cardboard, a paper mache puffy heart, wooden cutout, grapevine wreath, or a variety of other forms... I was determined to come up with my own mossy heart creation. Here's a post where I shared How to Make a Moss Covered Heart from 2018.
