Goat Carts and Wagons Filled and Displayed for Fall

Today I'm sharing some fun ideas for putting together a cart or wagon for a beautiful Fall display, indoors or out.

I've been working on my front porch this week getting it ready for a Fall Hop where a group of us will be sharing our front porches next week. Creating a fall garden display in a cart or wagon is always my favorite theme. So I needed some inspiration for putting things together, then share some pics from some of my previous cart and wagon fall displays.

I've had fun this last few years decorating this spot in the garden room. The old metal gate behind the desk makes a great backdrop for seasonal displays. Here in the goat cart I'm using some faux mums in an olive bucket and a large white faux pumpkin sitting atop a mound of leaves.

These are some pics from about 10 years ago when I first found this reproduction goat cart and filled it up with pumpkins and leaves and real bittersweet.

Above pics were from two houses ago, before I painted the wagon French Gray. It looked really pretty during the fall when it was black, but not so seasonally aesthetic during the rest of the year.

When putting together a display the first thing I do is grab some old small Amazon boxes and create a base for the display. When I have it built up a bit I used burlap to cover them and cover up the boxes.

The pillows on my church pew tend to be traded around every few weeks. The Indigo ticking pillows are my go-to for most seasons, since they go with almost everything and the brown floral ones are my fave Fall pillow accessories.

Here's a link with my vintage birdcage display from a few years ago. When reworking the farm table, I had to set the lantern somewhere. It ended up here on the pew, and it worked. I've learned you can make a fun vignette almost anywhere.

Pinterest has been around for awhile, and one of the downfalls is that many of the photos no longer have the original source. There are a lot of bogus sites out there getting traffic and making money off blogger's photos, mine included. So unless I find the original source I won't be giving the fake sites credit. If you recognize any of the photo sources please let me know and I'll share it.

Here are some of my wheelbarrow,
 wagon and goat cart favorites.

Pumpkin Wheelbarrow Display Green and cream pumpkins are well-suited for early fall, when summer still lingers. Assemble the gourds in a wooden wheelbarrow, adding berry vines for extra color and stacking pumpkins to give height to the tableau. As the season progresses, incorporate more orange and yellow gourds to capture the changing landscape of autumn.

I noticed is that most of these pics have pumpkins/gourds, mums/sunflowers, and some sort of vines incorporated in the mix; either Bittersweet or Grapevine. You may not have a wagon or cart, but the same ideas can be used to fill a large basket or crate for porch decor.

I'm heading out this afternoon to try to find some naturals for the porch. My favorite pumpkin and mum farm market has been sold for a coffee drive thru, so finding unique pumpkins is proving to be a mission. I can't tell you how disappointed I was when we made the turn on the highway and it was gone!! At least 17 years of fun Fall tradition went poof in a moment!

You can see most of these pics on my Pinterest Boards,
