Sunflowers Bucket on the Farmtable

Hi Friends, August is zipping by and decor is changing as fast as a chicken can peck a bug. Okay, I'm no chicken lady, but I bet it's fast! My momma and baby vintage chalk chickens have been out here in the Garden Room since mid July and I'm just getting around to sharing the farm table for Late Summer.

Sunflowers are one of my two favorite flowers for Summer and Fall, the other being hydrangeas. I joined in on a Hop last week where we shared how we use sunflowers in our late summer / early fall decor. Sunflowers are a staple in my large wooden ice cream bucket on the farm table in the Garden Room. In mid-summer they mix with red geraniums, blue and white hydrangeas, and lots of summery blooms.

Lots of red mixed in and red summer linens.

Back to late August with a more neutral look.

A small collection of vintage kitchen tools with white handles.
...Mashers, hand mixer, tea strainer.

Flour sack Sunflower tea towel...

My tabletop vignette is anchored by my reproduction breadboard with a fresh white washed finish. I gave this big board a new neutral look that was a wonderful updated change from the uneven orange-y finish.

Back to the wooden bucket... its filled with faux sunflowers in white, gold, and persimmon colors. Also a few daisies, black-eyed susans and summer hydrangeas.

Don't forget to add in a few foraged sticks for a more realistic look in your rustic flower arrangements. They give the "just picked" vibe.

This time of year this window gets too much bright sun, so I've had to move a few plants to another spot where they won't get cooked. My galvanized "watering" tray makes it easier to water small plants without leaking on the furniture.

Painted white vintage suitcase stack...

Hope you'll come by the link party on Monday evenings.
