Garden Room Sitting Area and Easter on a Tray

Hello Friends and Welcome to the Easter On A Tray Blog Tour, hosted by our sweet friend, Katherine, from Katherine's Corner. Are you ready for some fun and inspiration on how to do a quick nod to any holiday or season? You'll see some wonderful ideas on how to decorate a small space or add a beautiful compact decor vignette with just a few items.

If you're coming from Debbie Styles Life I'm extending a special "Hello"; I'm so glad you've come by to visit and are continuing with the Tour. Last Fall Katherine thought sharing ideas for seasons and holidays by decorating a "tray" would be fun and inspirational. And guess what?... there are so many ways and areas around the house that a tray works to brighten up a small space with some holiday magic.

Today I'm here in the Garden Room, our large sunroom at the back of the house. It faces Southeast so it always has great light and has become a bit of a "studio" for me. Since lighting is always an issue with photos, I can count on this spot to be the perfect place to grab a quick photo or style a larger vignette. On one end we have our casual eating area with a farmtable and china cupboard and on the opposite end, a small sitting area with my Holiday Cupboard, wicker settee and chair and a baker's rack. I love old quilts, blankets and pillows so this spot gets a seasonal and holiday refresh frequently.

My Easter tray is here in the sitting area on a coffeetable/bench my dad made for me back in the 90's. This is a little scalloped wooden tray that I use throughout the year. I love to decorate a tray for a coffee table display or use it on the kitchen island as a handy spot for a little holiday decor.

My Easter tray has a vintage garden theme this year with a vintage cutout rabbit, old garden tools, vintage wooden berry baskets, and some springtime ivy teacups. Using a tray keeps stray smalls (which I love to use) from getting lost in the vignette. The vintage glass bunny is nestled in some green raffia "grass". He pops up for a cameo each Easter.

This little berry basket holds some seed packets, old mini clay pots,
fabric carrots from HL and a couple of fuzzy little chicks.

A vintage ironstone tureen is a bit larger anchor piece. It's not too big as many tureens are, but more of a covered veggie size. A small potted faux paperwhite, and a vintage sacred postcard round out the fun vintage items.

The large Homer Laughlin vintage ironstone pitcher
is filled with live forsythia branches from our yard.

The Holiday Cupboard here in the sitting area, is filled with fun Easter pieces, springtime ivy dishes and green transferware. You can see the Holiday Cupboard dressed up for Easter HERE

During Spring and the Easter season I love to use lighter colors and pastels, like this vintage Tumbling Blocks quilt and floral pillows. The Buffalo Check pillow covers can be found on Amazon in a bunch of different colors.

With the doors of the cupboard closed, a bright springtime wreath
is a pretty accessory with faux forsythia, lilacs and tulips.

I'm so glad you came by to visit and hope you'll be a regular here. You can follow me on  InstagramPinterest and follow with email notifications with a box on the right sidebar. Be sure and click on the Linky images below to continue the Tray Tour to visit Pam at An Artful Mom.

  8. A garden tray for your garden room! How perfect for Easter and Spring Debra, and your bunny with the seed packets and orange checked carrots is adorable! The garden glove and tools is a perfect touch, and the tureen and vintage postcard with the teacup stack and bunny add a feeling of wonder...as in wondering who sent the card and who is coming for tea! I love your pitcher of forsythia too, always a sure sign of Spring! I hope you have a blessed and peaceful Easter 🌷🐇🌷

  9. Debora, I can always count on you to put together the very best vintage vingettes. The seed packets are the ones I'm drawn to at our nearby family owned garden center. After the seeds are used the packet watercolors are works of art. Every little touch on your tray is special, including those checked carrots, and the tray makes me long to get out side and garden!
    Happy Easter Hugs,
    Rachelle

  10. Debra, you had me at vintage garden theme! I always enjoy everything you style, and your tray is filled with special touches. How lucky to have blooming forsythia in your garden. I have to buy the stems at the market. Like you, I prefer to gather decor pieces on a tray. Keeps it small and it's easy to move about.
    Happy Easter!
    PS,
    Love your styled hutch shelves!

  11. Love your garden-themed Easter tray, Debra, especially that sweet vintage glass bunny! The overall effect is charming, with a variety of items lending interest. The scalloped wooden tray was the perfect choice for the base. And of course, having the tray in the sun room next to the vibrant forsythia makes for a dynamic pairing. It's great to tour with you. Happy Easter!
