Antique Rocking Horse and Last Minute Fall

Today is the end of October, and tomorrow is my unofficial start for Thanksgiving. Do you ever get to the end of October and then wrestle with the idea of just ignoring moving past Thanksgiving and starting on Christmas? I imagine many of you do, (think about it and bring on out the Christmas tree) But I've always just loved Thanksgiving so I don't linger on that thought long. I try to make it a little easier by considering Thanksgiving a transition from "Fall" to "Christmas".

As usual I'm down to the finish line and I still have a few photos to share. So I have a few pics of the church pew and my antique horsey; then a few of the farm table in the Garden Room decorated for Fall.

I brought out my orange tool box that I found last year
and loaded it up with pumpkins on the farmtable.

The vintage ice cream freezer bucket is still here.
I think it's grown to the table.

This precious little fabric pumpkin was gifted to me last year.
Isn't it adorable? I love that overlay of crocheted lace.
Here's the post about my trip to visit Abbey and Sara of
Sweet Magnolia's Farm at The Vintage Peddler.

Plaid pillow covers from Etsy last year.

Here's a little more late Fall/Thanksgiving fun

I worked all day yesterday to herd in the turkeys.
(they're really messy!)
They'll be coming up this next week.
Are you doing Thanksgiving,
or going straight to Christmas?
no judgement...

Have a fun weekend, and don't eat too much sugar...
says the closet chocolate stasher.

Hope to see you Monday evening!

  2. You have a beautiful home, Debra. I love Thanksgiving, too, and I hate it when people "skip it" and go straight to Christmas. Glad to see your post. Happy Thanksgiving!

  4. Your rocking horse is SO handsome. {wince} I purged mine in the downsize. I am doing just a little bit of changing over to late fall before bringing out Christmas. Enjoying changes while being home so much during COVID. Yours looks truly festive and inviting.

  6. Debra we share the same sentiments about fall and Thanksgiving, and like you, I am all about celebrating Thanksgiving right now! Over the past couple of years I have learned how to start adding in pine and other evergreens into my Thanksgiving decor to make it easier and faster to transtion to Christmas. After all, we do get some wintry weather and even some snow for Thanksgiving. To me, this is part of the magic of November and Thanksgiving. If it is a beautiful autumn day with the sun shining on the last of the fall foliage, great! If it is snowy, it makes it even more special and exciting. Even if it is cloudy and rainy, it can be a cozy candlelit evening. I love November!

I love your beautiful fall decorations. The table decor is perfection! The little rocking horse with that perfect fall plaid is too cute. Love it all, as I always say!
