Silver Sunday, I wish these were mine...

I really love these little silver clocks
made of teapots and other silver "accoutrements"

Sorry to say they aren't mine,
 but folks,
my exciting silver items are running thin,
so here are a couple of images of my silver "wants".

(Romantic Homes)

Oh yes, and this gorgeous silver trophy cup.

(Country Living)

aaahhhh...

Oh, excuse me, now back to reality.

I hadn't really been "into" silver
before our 25th "Silver Wedding Anniversary".
Our children bought this silver tea set
 for us to celebrate appropriately.

Here are some flea market finds of silver bud vases
and one of my many random silver teapots.

This antique silver-plate monogrammed ladies inkwell set
was given to me by my brother,
for my Birthday about 7 years ago.

I love the detail of the roses.

silver flea market candle holders.

Now, please disregard any and all dust that may have
inadvertently been shown in the taking of these photos,
and do not check back to see me
 in my pink thermal pajamas.
 Thankyou.

Run on over to Gypsy Fish Journal
to see the rest of the fabuloso silver goodies!

Have a great Silver Sunday!

Vintage Bingo Valentines

I have always loved greeting cards, and literally have boxes with almost every card I have ever received. I love keeping them out on display, sometimes for weeks, just to enjoy them.

Last year for Valentine's Day I decided to make Valentine card hangers, so they could "hang around" for awhile. I found these red vintage bingo cards and then used vintage children's Valentine cards with a little mod-podge and glitter. It was my first time to try something like this and I had a lot of fun making them.

And now that I know what "Stickles" are...
it should be a little easier.

The thing I will do differently is to use matte
 mod-podge instead of gloss...
too shiny.

I love ribbon of every kind and color,
especially holiday ribbon,
to dress up any paper project.

A little red heart-shaped pin cushion
joins in.

My crafting quota has been really low,
but I enjoyed these so much,
I'm going to put some together this weekend.

Vintage buttons and Valentine ribbon embellish the hanger.

And thank you sweet Donna of Brynwood Needleworks,
who gave me this wonderful "Sweet Friends" award.
Donna and I came to know each other through my
Give-away last fall. She has been a real blessing to know.

Hope you have a great weekend.
We're expecting a blizzard
... brrrr.
 I'm staying in to play!

love,
Debra

White Wednesday, Meet Lucy

If you have been visiting my blog for a while, you might have seen Miss Lucy, (as in goosey) in some of my Dining Room photos. She has a nest in my wrought iron French basket that resides on my Dining Room table. She's pretty quiet and doesn't raise much of a fuss.

She's content to watch over all the sheep that congregate there also. Miss Lucy has seen better days, as she has lost the little plastic "eyes" that she once had, and the time she spent in the elements has caused her to crack and chip in places. After all, she is just an old cardboard decoy, that men have used as "bait" for their exploits. But she found a place in my heart and she came home with me about 2 years ago, to be given a place of honor at my table.

Whatever the season or the holiday,
she receives a new "floral nest"...

And a fresh ribbon with which she celebrates.

She is a slightly odd little duck that gives me great delight.

Here is to celebrating those things
that may seem odd to others,
(like an old beat-up cardboard decoy)
but bring us unexpected joy!

love,
Debra
