Cozy Up to Fall in the Hearth Room

Welcome to my mish mash of early fall pics here in the Hearth Room. I shared my Mantel with Transferware and Ironstone earlier this week, so today I'm sharing the rest of the room. Things change pretty quick in September so I need to stay current week by week!

As I mentioned, things change fast around here in early Fall. So I have some pics of late August mixed in with early September. Basically, I had two topiaries on the mantel in August, then switched over to the white lanterns in early September. Not a big difference but it changed the look somewhat to a more neutral vibe.

The rolling French market basket went from hydrangeas and sunflowers to a more fall look with colorful silk leaves added in.

I did bring out my brown floral Waverly (I think) fabric pillows that are my Fall go-to. Early fall means sunflowers are still sprinkled around.

I had piled pears in the white Homer Laughlin ironstone bowl earlier, which now has a fat pumpkin instead. I love this little "cobbler's bench", which is just the right size to put your feet up or place a beverage.

Sewing cabinet turned lampstand.

The sideboard has a white enamel coffee pot filled with a late summer bouquet.

Full on Fall will be here very soon...

Here are a couple of other looks for early fall from last year.

Not sure if many of you noticed, but I spent a few crazy days this last week. My domain name renewal came up which was supposed to be "automatic renewal", but some changes from Google's platform, some credit card changes, and a bunch of emails that had landed in "spam" caused my blog to be totally shut down from the Internet. It was the perfect storm of "you've got to be kidding me".  I had no clue it was coming and didn't know there was catastrophe looming ahead until Thursday afternoon when my blog literally disappeared right under my nose. We worked this last 3 days with reps from Google and GoDaddy to get it restored. As you may know Google has no support unless you pay a monthly fee for their "Workplace" platform, and then it's really iffy if you can get help even then. My husband and I felt like we were on some kind of "Twilight Zone" merry-go-round until we finally got in touch with a very knowledgeable tech person at GoDaddy who had dealt with my weird hybrid account. But, now it's worked out for the better because it's in a secure place and I can move forward with making some changes I've wanted to do for years. I tend to look for Biblical applications to whatever life throws my way, so the verse from Genesis 50:20 proved true.
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done ..."

  1. Oh my gosh Debra! What an awful experience! I totally panic with things like that as I'm the least techy person in the world! I'm so glad you got things back on track! As for the Hearth Room, it is always a favorite of mine to visit. It's always gorgeous and I find myself drawn to your floral arrangements once again. They are beautiful and always so unique! Thanks for the inspiration and after all of that... I wish you a very peaceful week ahead!

    1. thanks Denise. I'm totally not techy either, but my husband and I got to the bottom of it. I've learned some safety precautions along the way!

  2. Debra, grateful you worked out the blog issue. How frightening! I wouldn't have known what to do. Thankfully, you did, and all is restored. I love your fall touches. Working on some around here.

    1. thankyou Sarah, yes it was very scary and depressing. I don't think I could have done it without my husband being there to walk through all the possibilities.

  3. Looking beautiful as usual! I would love to just sit with you in that room and have a cup of coffee. You definitely mastered how to create a cosy feeling. Really Like the pears you added in too. Glad your blog is back up. That is super scary. I have had mine shut down for hours and I was freaking out.

  4. This is a beautiful cozy space. Love how you've combined dark wood with white. This is just a very inviting room to just sit down with a good book, a good throw blanket and a cut of tea. Blissful.

  7. So thankful you got your blog back Debra! It's hard, but you took a positive outlook on the situation and now can move forward with the changes you have been wanting to do. Love the pops of bright yellow and orange against white in your hearth room.
