A Very Merry Christmas in the Holiday Cupboard

Hello there friends. I know you all are feeling it too, just one week till Christmas and it seems I don't have everything accomplished that I've wanted to do. I still have a few pics to share from around the house. Here we are in the Garden Room where the Holiday Cupboard is my fun spot to decorate. So I'm squeezing it in with a few more posts around the house next week.

This year, I just went with my love for my little houses and churches. I have some of my collection on the Christmas Sideboard in the Hearth Room, but the rest of them ended up here along with old tins, nativity lambs, and red transferware.

My smaller ironstone tureens live here year round, but the transferware changes up with the seasons. It's Christmas, so the red is showing off this month. The red transferware is a little harder to find in our area. Brown is much easier to find, so I'm always on the hunt for anything in Red. Most of my transferware collections are a mismatched hodgepodge, but it's great that they all mix and match.

No matter when I start decorating, it seems I'm tweaking
and changing things up until it's time to take it all down.
The coffee table/bench is an example.

I started out with this old enamel spongeware bowl with pinecones...

and then I fiddled it into this.

But that's part of the fun of decorating with vintage goodies.

Here's another look at the area of the room that I don't show vey often.

Have a great weekend, everyone.
Are you all finished with all your Christmas preparations?

I think winter has finally hit us.
We've had rain and frozen our booties off all day Friday.

  1. I always love your cabinet and what ever you put in there. I know what you mean about tweaking, my goodness, don't let me go into a store with furniture---I'm tweaking the accessories...LOL. Very warm and welcoming, love the RED!!!! Hugs, Sandi

    1. oh Sandi, that's so funny about furniture stores. I have to pick things up and look at it all, even if I'm not planning on buying. I also have to smell each candle! Happy happy Christmas week!

  2. It's so beautiful and fresh! I adore the cabinet -- and yes, I tweak all season (even after Christmas but before it comes down!) It's lovely, Debra.

  4. I just love the reddish pink plates there in the background. They add just enough color, but not too much to take away from the decor in the front. Merry Christmas!

  5. Debra, your beautiful little cupboard always looks so pretty but it especially is perfect at Christmas. Why do we love little houses so much? I think if there is love in your house the little ones are just a extension of that. My wish is a beautiful and peaceful Christmas for you and your hubby and a Happy New Year, my friend..xxoJudy
