Fall Sideboard and a trip to The Vintage Peddler

Hello Friends, and Happy Weekend!!!

In my last post I mentioned that I'd finally made it over to my fave vintage market here in town, The Vintage Peddler. Hubby and I had been out last Saturday and spur-of-the moment I asked him if he'd mind taking me to the shops. I'd forgotten that this probably was the Fall Open House weekend and sure enough they were loaded up with fun fall goodies, decor, and tons of fall inspired yummy treats.

Before I show a few mediocre phone snaps from shopping, (my fault, not the vendors!) I wanted to share a peek at the antique sideboard in the Hearth Room. I've mentioned in the past that my husband does some vintage shopping for me when he's out restocking his booth in Ozark. He's come up with some great pieces and this small oval fruit chromolithograph is one of the latest. I hunted for a good spot to show it off and this small shelf on the sideboard mirror seemed perfect.

I think this print process is from the early 1900's
and is in it's original metal "wood look" frame.

This large container is one I use each fall
because the colors really work during the Autumn season.
The Royal Doulton Pomegranate Bursalem Basin can be found here.

I have it filled with velvet pumpkins and faux fall leaves and hydrangeas.

...and I still have out some of my matte white pottery planters,
and now they're showing off a few small pumpkins.
My two pieces of Yellow Cornflower china keep the print in place.

I'm a believer in a bit of "black" strategically placed throughout a room for contrast.
I love having this wonderful old "God Bless Our Home" here,
in it's original Eastlake frame.

Many of these pieces have been here on the sideboard since early Spring.
I just refresh them a bit seasonally.

I have a few pics from my outing last weekend, in no particular order. I was disappointed in my ability to take a decent phone pic, but maybe you can get a bit of an idea of all the great vintage goodies.

Here are a few photos from years past of fall outings in the area.

Be sure to check out Sara and Abbey's space

Hope you're having a good start to fall.
Hard to believe that in about a week we'll be heading into October.
By the time it cools down it's time to start thinking about Christmas decor.
I just want Fall to last a little longer!!

    1. Yes, Springfield. I think they opened in 2017 and now it's really the best place in town. I haven't been to Ozark in ages because of covid, etc. but there are some amazing places down there. Where are you located? There are some great places in Spfd, I just haven't been out shopping in several years.

  5. Ooh, I love armchair shopping! And your hubby's latest pick for you looks terrific, along with all the other decor on the sideboard. I am toggling between packing and decorating, wanting to be settled 'there' and in the moment 'here'. I'm afraid my booth space (translate sales) will likely suffer the next few weeks. It's mentally exhausting.

  6. Morning, Debra! Oh, I would love to visit that cute shop with you! I see a few things I 'need'! :) Your buffet is so lovely and the first thing that caught my eye was that gorgeous bowl! It has a wooden rim? Your pun'kins and all just looks so pretty! I like the little picture you've used too. Everything is just perfect!
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)
