Fashion Finds for Summer

Hi Friends, just wanted to share a little post on some Fun Summer Fashion I've found. I love to go shopping, but lately I've let my fingers do the walking and just browse around the Internet. That can lead to finding some great pieces, and some trendy boutique items that are still at good prices. This isn't a sponsored post, just sharing some things I like and have purchased. I love to see what you all are wearing and get some ideas for myself.

I like a bigger bag, no matter what the season. I have a lot of "stuff" that I seem to need to carry around with me: make-up, meds, contact lens paraphernalia, phone, glasses, sometimes a camera... the list goes on and on. I also like to change out my purses to match my outfit; color coordinate, especially in Spring and Summer when I tend to wear brighter colors.

Last Fall I was looking for a monogrammed tote in menswear fabric. I spent hours online searching and I happened to find some great ideas from Pinterest. Barrington Gifts' Pinterest page is lots of fun and you'll get tons of options to be able to customize your own bag, tote, and luggage.

The bags are nylon and the monogram and stripe are printed right on top. You can choose from a bunch of options, including colors of the leather handles. Waterproof too. I meant to show you my Winter tote, but I don't think I ever got around to it, anyway here it is...

I think I used this tote most of last Fall and Winter.
I've had to control myself, because I want one of every design and color!

Every time I walk into a boutique I zoom into the clothing area. My problem is that I'm short and most all the fun and funky tunic tops are way too big and long. I happened to find this adorable floral top with a trendy sleeve from Nordstrom. I get their emails when new things come in, so it's easy to shop with them, online. Free shipping and returns makes it a no-brainer to be able to make a purchase. We don't have a Nordstrom around here, but they have a variety of great fashion for Petites and their prices are comparable to shopping here in Podunksville town.

I'm in love with this little top. It's light, breezy and flirty. Pair this with white crop jeans and it will take you almost anywhere. This look is also a nice option for my usual Linen shirt and jeans, which I tend to gravitate toward. It's an easy choice for whatever you're doing. I remember when you took Linen to the dry cleaners...not anymore, I wash all of it, except jackets.

I also love A Chunky Necklace under my Linen Shirts to dress them up a bit. I don't wear much jewelry in the Winter, usually just a scarf, but in Summer I tend to like a little "wow".

Shoes... I have shoes from 20 years ago that still look new. I'm not hard on shoes, not sure why. Maybe because around the house I wear slip-on Skechers, that take a lot of wear and tear, and also I haven't been running around like crazy lately.

I hadn't bought a pair of nice sandals for several years, so with my Birthday money I thought I'd try to find something new. I looked at hundreds of pairs at Dillards, but kept coming back to these, for the comfort and lower heel. They were more than I wanted to pay, but they were so comfortable I thought I'd treat myself with a splurge. I love a platform sandal, and have a pair of Coach signature ones from several years ago that I usually wear with everything, but I thought I'd better stick closer to the ground since I've been teeter-tottering around with this ridiculous neck and head business.

OK, things have been quiet around here lately. I did get a good start on container planting and putting together the patio, but it's still a work in progress. Hope you're having a great week!

xoxo,

  2. Cute stuff! I love it all, including the necklace, but I can't wear those because 1) I look l like I'm playing dress up and 2) they actually make my neck hurt and give me a headache! Love your comment on Podunkville. We live in a similar town called Podunk. 😆

  4. You are a great and savvy shopper, Debra. I love the tops. I'm only 5'2' so I truly struggle with outfits that make me feel small. Slim fit clothes are wonderful to find.

    Thanks so much!

  9. Really love those sandals, very chic and look comfy, hope they are.Actually loved it all, we rarely do much so have settled into my comfy clothes. When we go to town I try to fix up a bit more, wear jewelry, little make up, makes me feel nice. Hubs says he doesn't mind me not wearing make up around the house but even when we go to small local town for groceries I fix up a bit. Been married over 48 yrs, but that doesn't mean I have to look like a bag lady.
Loved those totes you showed would have to watch not to put too much in them. With shoulder/neck problems have to be careful not carrying too big a purse. Love them tho.Love all your choices.
    Have wonderful weekend
