Painted Leaf Fall Wreath

Hi Everyone, I know you all are probably getting some Fall decor out of storage, and searching Pinterest for some fresh ideas and inspiration. I knew I wanted to try to create a new wreath for the Kitchen Sitting Area, but I also knew I wanted it to be neutral. I love the colors of Autumn, but wanted to try using something that was in shades of white, cream, grays, and tans....

I bought a smaller wreath last Christmas that was white but it was made out of some kind of strange coral looking material. After I got it home I decided I didn't really care for it, but realized it would make a good base for something else. Of course I didn't take a photo of it before I started since I thought I'd be using something else. Good tip for trying something new...be flexible, and be prepared to make adjustments to avoid an "epic fail".

I started with several packs of individual fabric leaves in all Fall colors. Originally I had planned to have muted colors of oranges, golds, reds, and greens; a more Nature Inspired Look. Only problem was that I. really. didn't. love. that. look. Finally I realized it needed to be more muted and lighter colors.

so...it went through several versions until I came up with my finished product.

and...I had to add a little glitter in gold and bronze
to give it some sparkle and glitz.

It was just the right size to use layered on top of the old mirror.
Then just added a little faux garland of leaves and bittersweet.

Here's a little peek of the quilt and pillows for the "First Edition" of Fall!

Be sure and check out all my Fall Boards on Pinterest!

Have a fun weekend,

xoxo,
