Asking the age old question...

Oh I know, we've all heard it...
usually it's our husband's asking us,
 but right now I'm asking myself;
"where are you going to put that?"

and the answer is...

well...

I'm not sure...
but it was one of those things
I've been looking for and when I found it...
it came home with me.

A wonderful old medicine cabinet with the perfect "chippy factor";
sturdy, and a good size, too.
It will end up somewhere...I'm sure of it.
(I thought it was a bargain for $30 at Relics.)

And on another random note, I wanted a more muted Fallish look for my twin sofas in the Living Room so I was looking for a soft floral with some autumnal tones. ("pretend pillow" below)

Then, I found some more yardage of a fabric
I had used last Fall for a table runner.

(I noticed Yvonne and I have had the same idea)

My next project it to make simple pillows
for the twin sofas.
you know the saying,
"simple is as simple does"

that's me.
no cording, no fringe, no hair pulling.
this time, just plain pillows.

I still love my frenchy toile ones,
but wanted something different for Fall.

We had rain last night,
thank you Lord.
We live a long way from the official rain gauge site, but I think it must have been well over an inch, as our parched ground is still wet this afternoon. I'm hoping our weather patterns are in for a change. It's about time. Days on end of the 100+ temps and no rain has been horrible. All my birdies and outside critters are doing the happy dance today!

  2. Debra,
I adore your fabric for new Fall pillows! What a nice addition they will make to your sofa! Mary Carol Garrity stated in one of her books, "If you love something, get it...you'll always find a place for it". In time, you'll find "the perfect" spot for your cabinet...which is magnificient! We, too, had rain and the return of double digit temperatures here on our end of the Prairie! I am so~o~ ready for Autumnal mornings, daytime and evenings!!! Have a wonderful week, dear friend!
    Fondly,
    Pat

I love the fabric you picked out for your pillows. I've had Fall on my mind over the last few days too, I'm so ready for cooler temps!!
Hope you have a lovely Sunday afternoon!!

  4. Oh, how I love your chippy wall cabinet! I think you bought a long lost relative to my little medicine cabinet I hung in my kitchen. Yours is a little more "high end" with the added base and crown, but it sports the exact same latch. Can't wait to see where you hang it!

*Love the muted fabric you've chosen for your pillows, too.

  5. Debra, how could you not bring that cabinet home with you? I do that often. Buy it because I love it. Sooner or later we find a place. I think the price was great. Can't wait to see where it ends up. The fabric is perfect and I don't think it needs any foo-fooing. It will add great color.
    Hugs,
    Jann

  12. Love your chippy wood treasure. I've one to be repainted and distressed too, but waiting for a No humidity day. I found one a while back and have used it in my crafty area for lots of little goodies.
Your "Fall" fabric choices are great. I love fall and hope to redo after the grandkids leave this week.
    Have a great week.

  20. I know exactly what you mean. I brought home a large one of those cabinets and it is sitting on the kitchen floor waiting for me to find its' spot. That is great fabric, with the beautiful and extremely warm summer we have been having, I am so looking forward to fall.

  21. That is a beautiful fabric, Debra! I would be drawn to that, too. Unfortunately, I have to ask myself that question before I bring things home now, as our new place doesn't have the room for an unplanned "addition". : ) I'm sure you'll figure out a great place to put it!

  22. Your fabric is gorgeous and I adore your runner. Perfect for all the way until Christmas. :o) I have the "where do I put it" dilemma with a marble top dresser I'm getting from my Father-in-law. It's driving me nuts but I'm determined to fit it in somewhere!

I want a chippy white cabinet, too! I'd love an old medical cabinet that is on wheels or one with a french door on the front to store my vintage linens in!! One day!!!

  27. If I did any of that cording or fringe on pillows, I'd sure be pulling my hair out. I don't do that kind of stuff. Like you, like it simple. I love that fabric! Your house always looks like a magazine shoot. Love the chippy cabinet too. You'll find the perfect spot for it.
