Out on the Porch

I can't take credit for this one,
I totally stole it from my sister,
who stole it from Robin...

And mine is pretty lame in comparison to the one Robin
had at her wonderful Vintage Suitcase Open House a few weeks ago.

(can you see that cute plaid peeking out under all the awesome branches?)

Love this plaid from Thermos and Scotch Plaid
And it does seem like every post has some plaid in it this time of year...
maybe cause I'm just in love with it!

(Pinterest)

I haven't seen my sister's yet,
but I'm sure it's way better than what I threw together.
Although, I DO have to say that this is REAL Holly
from my mega bushes in the back yard.
No faux here...

OK, the little trees are faux...
and the wreath...
and the green poinsettias...
But the Holly is real!

Things haven't changed too much since my
pre-Thanksgiving makeover.
I just put my pumpkins out in the back for the critters to chew on.

There's one of my helpers at the front door.

I'm done, cause it is now way below freezing and I can't
stand to take any more pictures.
Brrrrrr...

See ya tomorrow for
Vintage Inspiration Friday
Hope you've dragged out all that old stuff,
cause we're havin' a party!!

Joining in for the Porch Party at

and a little p.s.
Be sure and link up tomorrow for VIF,
'cause there's a cute little Santa Girl Necklace for a Give Away!

Christmas in the Kitchen

Holiday parties...so much fun...
today we're in the kitchen, that I just finished decorating.
I'm just showing the "big picture" today,
because I have some fun detailed posts coming up.

I DO want to share the details on this great old spatterware bowl.

a couple of months ago I found it at Amy's Etsy Store
It was just what I'd been looking for for Christmas!

My tool caddy with blue Mason jars stays on the table.
It's usually filled with faux hydrangeas,
 and now some winter greenery.

Sitting on a red toile tablerunner from TJ's, purchased several years ago.

On top of the kitchen china cabinet

And on top of the fridge

Baby chandy above the sink

And a milk carrier full of paperwhites...
(more on them a little later)

More fun coming...

I'm about done with the decorating...
I need to relax and enjoy it!
How about you?

Holiday Dining with Plaid and Toile

With all the Holiday parties this week, I thought I'd do a separate post with just my Dining Room decor. Sorry if you've seen these photos before, but hope you enjoy the full view...

The last few years I've done white and neutrals in the Dining Room. This year my French Country roots started to show because I wanted my red toile back, and then some of that love of "traditional" came along too. So what did I do?...combined the two. Traditional red and green Christmas colors with a little twist.

I added the little Christmas Cloche this week with the
tiny vintage reindeer and bottle brush trees.

My bottle brush wreath and lamb collection on the sideboard.

Hope you enjoyed the Dining Room tour (again)
I'm joining in with:

lots of fun planned this week!
