Spring and Seasonal Paper Greeting Tags

Once in a while I come across something that really inspires and intrigues me. For my birthday earlier last month my sister gave me a precious gift greeting tag instead of a card. I was totally captivated by it's vintage images and similarities to the vintage inspired art collages that were so popular during the last decade.

I found the two rabbit tags from the Country Peddler Vintage Market, but they can be found at many boutiques and markets. I wish we could buy these from the manufacturer, but they offer wholesale only.

If you were reading blogs back when I started in 2009, paper collage was one of the big trends in crafting and vintage art. There were several blogs and magazines that were dedicated to creating collage art, and we all had to give it a try.

I love playing with paper and vintage ephemera, and have created a few paper collages myself over the years. One of my favorite mediums is using Mod Podge making holiday and seasonal bottles, and when I found a tattered "Birds of the World" illustrated books I created some pieces with antique photo album pages. I wanted to share these gift tags with you so you could look for them yourself to purchase and also be inspired to create some tags of your own.

I don't want to take anything away from these amazing gift tags, but when I saw them they nudged me to consider trying to create something of my own. There are many digital downloads for printing of watercolor animal illustrations on Etsy and "stamping" products that give you ideas and inspiration to experiment with your own pieces.

I really fell in love with these tags, and let me say I'm not interested in copying or recreating their beautiful designs to sell. They are very affordable and just inspired me to be creative on my own. I adore "cards" and have kept almost all of mine. (anyone else do that?) The extra with tags is that they can be used for décor and also a sweet book mark to remind you of the occasion.

You can check out their website, In The Land of Elsewhere.com but they are not available for purchase online. You might be able to contact them to find where they are being sold in your own area.

Hope you enjoyed seeing these lovely art tags, too.

Happy April, friends!

  1. I keep cards and such too and haven't made tags in a long time, but used to do vintage tags constantly. Mostly I'd use old book pages and images scanned from vintage postcards and carefully cut with a few other embellishments, papers, frames, etc. They're so pretty. I love how you incorporated them into your spring decor.
