Moss Bunnies on the Spring Sideboard

Hi friends, Happy March; I hope you've been having a great week. It's been a little hectic this last few weeks for me. My husband decided to combine two storage units, so I've been trying to sort thru some boxes. (enough said) Good news is that I've found a few things I thought were lost, so yay for that.

But all that did throw me off of my getting my spring decorating accomplished. I'm plugging along and wanted to share a little moss bunny arrangement in a dough bowl on the sideboard that I just accomplished this week.

I found these two sweet moss rabbits on Amazon 2 years ago. They are the perfect size and so adorable. They are wearing a spring floral wired ribbon and nestled in moss and grape vine in my white distressed dough bowl.

The only problem is that they are dark green and are a little hard to see against the mirror, so I moved two ironstone pitchers filled with faux tulips behind them to give some contrast. Otherwise it looks like I have 4 bunnies!

I'm working on more Easter décor and vignettes as we speak, so I'll be sharing them soon. We've had another deep cold snap these last few days and my tulip tree looks iffy. I'm hoping it will snap back but not sure it can after three nights in the 20's. I have a few green starts of bulbs coming up, but nothing much to speak of... Certainly no blooms. I envy you all with daffodils and crocus coming out. We need some green around here.

Here are a few posts from past Spring on the Sideboard vignettes. It's such a fun spot to decorate. Vintage baskets, wheelbarrows, and my white dough bowl are perfect ways to put together fun displays. Take a peek for some spring inspiration with vintage pieces.

Here's reminiscing from a couple of years ago...

How are you all coming along on decorating for Spring and Easter?
I hope you're finding a warm up in your immediate future.

  1. I like your idea of moving the pitchers behind the bunnies to show them off more clearly! (Although four bunnies is good, too!). They look wonderful. I'm itchy for spring things (and dying to get my Christmas trees down... soon, I hope.) Love it!

    1. Maybe you should just throw sheets over your trees and be ready early for later in the year! LOL!!
Not diminishing your frustration. You've hung in there with a tough situation. Happy weekend, Jeanie!

  2. We are having the weirdest weather here in the Midwest. 78 one day and 30 the next. No wonder the plants are confused. Happy Friday. Picking up the sweet new pup today in Nashville. Have a great weekend. Hugs. Kris

  5. Hey Debra, I'm hopping over from Thursday Favorite Things blog hop....love the little moss bunny vignette, everything's so pretty! I can relate to the mirror challenge, that's a great idea you came up with to keep from seeing four sets of bunny ears. We live in a single wide mobile home and there are mirrors glued to the wall in the dining room and living room and living room ceiling. I like the ones in the dining room, since my husband added a shelf above them, (though they do make it a challenge to photograph), but I'm completely stumped on ideas for the ceiling (my poor kitties sometimes look up, see themselves...and start running!). Anyway, I've been thinking of covering the mirrors somehow, I wish I could find an easy solution that would not look too distracting up there, also, I'd like to do something with the ones on the wall where my sofa is in the living room, maybe some large shutters or something? But then again, I think the size I'd need is large, and probably going to be difficult to find. I've thought of putting up some faux brick panels on the whole wall, that I could white wash paint, on the whole wall behind my sofa, but then I change my mind. I'd love to cover those mirrors and the ceiling ones. I want it to blend well and not distract, so that I can change out decor when I want to as well. I would appreciate any ideas you might have or if you think some of these I have would work on the wall behind the sofa. I have always loved your decorating so much and would value your opinion. Wishing you a happy spring!

  6. Such a cute pairing of moss bunnies, Debra. I know how you feel about the job of combining the two units. I was out of town a couple days last week, and just now feeling [almost] caught up. We also had a couple cold nights last week, but the tulip magnolias in the neighborhood are now blooming beautifully. Hope yours fared okay too.
