Garden Girl for the Holidays

Over the years I've picked up a few old garden statuary pieces, but I can't let them be outside in the elements any longer. Some of them have survived for about 100 years, so they deserve to be in the comforts and safety of shelter. I found this precious Garden Girl fountain around 13 years ago in a little hole-in-the-wall antique shop in St. Louis. I spied her in an alleyway along with many other old pieces. Her graceful lines and sweet face called out to me.

She lives in the garden room with a few other pieces of vintage statuary.

I gathered a few pieces of boxwood and holly for her to carry in her basket. A little birdie found his way alongside. And of course, not to be left out, she had to have a plaid "scarf" to celebrate the Christmas Season.

Here are a few pics of the sitting area where she resides,
I haven't shared yet this year.

Here's the post from the Holiday Cupboard
 if you missed it.

My coffee table bench that my Dad made for me about 40 years ago, has my favorite Christmas plaid lunch hamper with Santa mugs and my white crate that I use almost continually. A basket of faux paperwhites and mini tree give Santa a spot to stop and rest during the festivities.

Did you catch this look at the Front Porch post?

A blast from the past.I hope you're having a wonderful Christmas Weekend.

  1. She's a real beauty, Debra. I can't but think how you'll soon be child-proofing all the decor, hehe. I'm about to rearrange a few things myself, anticipating J's visit in Christmas morning.
    Merry Christmas!🎄❤️

  3. Debra,
The garden girl is beautiful, but the red plaid "scarf" makes her perfect for Christmas. All your little touches make everything holiday special.

    Merry Christmas,
    Judith

  4. Oh my goodness, Debra. Why haven’t I noticed your big girl before??! This is a huge oversight for this person who LOVES statuary (always on the lookout!).

SYS is up on the blog and I hope she will come over. 😊 She is lovely with her plaid scarf and greenery!

    Merry Christmas!
